Yesterday I had a pretty bad manic episode and my therapist (she's working on CBT & DBT stuff with me) told me to write down my emotions in a "mood log" and there were other factors along with emotions I was feelings that I was supposed to add and I completely forgot what it was. Does anyone have a mood log they use that you can help me out and just tell me how to set one up? Thanks!

(I had an example but I lost it... and everytime I want to write in my mood log, I don't have one set up so I never do it) I think I should have one set up and ready to go BEFORE I need to use it haha.

I've never used one--well I've tried but I failed miserably. If you have a an android or iphone, can you download a mood tracker and use that?

Thanks so much for this! It'll definitely work for me... so when it says "Event" I write down whatever happened that I think triggered my emotions right? What if nothing happened and I just "woke up" feeling manic or depressed? also the thought/action part was the "factor" I was talking about I forgot I needed....

for that part what do I put? Do I put what I was thinking when I felt triggered orrrr what. & what does the action part mean?

(Sorry if these seem like stupid questions)

I use the My Mood app on my iTouch. It was helpful in tracking moods along with other things like sleep and exercise. It was worth the $5.

An event can be woke up or anything else. You wouldn't know you were in a bad mood if you were sleeping.

I put what I was thinking when I felt triggered or anything else I felt is important that day. Usually I write something whenever I realized that I've had a positive or negative reaction.

Some times I respond to something before I think. Whether is because my thoughts are to slow or I flip out. I write that there. I can send you a sample of what my depressed looks like and manic looks like if you want me to.

I just keep a journal I write in every morning and every night where I write a short sentence or two about how Im feeling, what I need to accomplish that day or just general writing whats on my mind...

Im sorry I cant help you out because I dont know what you were feeling or are feeling...your therapist doesnt want to know how I feel about whats going on in my life, they want to know how you are feeling so no one can really help you do this kind of homework because they are not you.

to do this all you need to do is write down what ever you are feeling. close your eyes and decide whether you are happy, sad excited, depressed or what ever other feeling words that come to you.

a suggestion...read your past posts...I read some of them and I found out that you do know how to write about what you are feeling about things..so maybe if you read your past posts they can show you other times when you wrote about your feelings and what made you feel those ways..
