Good morning. Thanks for the FYI Stopdog, I'm never sure who's a s/he on here. I know my name is kind of ambiguous too which is why I use the purple flower avatar, I figure it's sorta feminine.

H made "earthy crunchie" pancakes this morning. MIL says, "ohhh, pancakes, I LIKE this hotel". Then, as quickly as possible she says "better watch out how well you treat me, I may not leave". lol. She is so damn easy to please, and is tickled by every thing we do for her. I was thinking...when my daughter does stuff for me, I usually am thankful. BUT I am from now on going to be DELIGHTED like my mil is.
Where's Lola? I'm gonna send my MIL out to you next.

When I'm ovulating it makes me super needy but also super emotional so that if I want to cuddle or sex or something like that and I don't get it (for however benign a reason) it suddenly becomes the end of the world and H no longer loves me, etc., etc. When I have a chance to step away from my reaction I realize how crazy I must seem. At the end of my cycle right before my period, I get depressed. I become sad and listless. I lose motivation and feel hopeless. Some months are worse than others. In general everything affects me more than it used to and I cry very easily. I wasn't really like this until after having kids. I joke with my T that my hormones have betrayed me! |

I had a hysterectomy and no longer menstruate...however I still cycle mood wise. I know this because I am synced to my daughter and we both get pissy right before her period. Weird, and really awful at the same time. H always said "the last thing this house needs is two women on the rag". Crude, but humorous.

A Brief History of Lacrosse (From USLacrosse.org):
Brief History With a history that spans centuries, lacrosse is the oldest sport in North America. Rooted in Native American religion, lacrosse was often played to resolve conflicts, heal the sick, and develop strong, virile men. To Native Americans, lacrosse is still referred to as "The Creator's Game." Ironically, lacrosse also served as a preparation for war. Legend tells of as many as 1,000 players per side, from the same or different tribes, who took turns engaging in a violent contest. Contestants played on a field from one to 15 miles in length, and games sometimes lasted for days. Some tribes used a single pole, tree or rock for a goal, while other tribes had two goalposts through which the ball had to pass. Balls were made out of wood, deerskin, baked clay or stone. The evolution of the Native American game into modern lacrosse began in 1636 when Jean de Brebeuf, a Jesuit missionary, documented a Huron contest in what is now southeast Ontario, Canada. At that time, some type of lacrosse was played by at least 48 Native American tribes scattered throughout what is now southern Canada and all parts of the United States. French pioneers began playing the game avidly in the 1800s. Canadian dentist W. George Beers standardized the game in 1867 with the adoption of set field dimensions, limits to the number of players per team and other basic rules. New York University fielded the nation's first college team in 1877, and Philips Academy, Andover (Massachusetts), Philips Exeter Academy (New Hampshire) and the Lawrenceville School (New Jersey) were the nation's first high school teams in 1882. There are 400 college and 1,200 high school men's lacrosse teams from coast to coast. The first women's lacrosse game was played in 1890 at the St. Leonard's School in Scotland. Although an attempt was made to start women's lacrosse at Sweet Briar College in Virginia in 1914, it was not until 1926 that Miss Rosabelle Sinclair established the first women's lacrosse team in the United States at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore, Maryland. Barbecuing today. I have the smoker going, then some burgers on the grill to which I will add the ribs at the very end to firm up a bit. I am adding some ground bacon to the ground beef to see. I don't usually like bacon burgers because of how insanely difficult to eat I find them - all that sliding off. So trying this - I am experimenting with proportions of bacon to beef. I ground the beef yesterday and will grind the bacon today. I am going to have sets of 1/8 C bacon to 1/4 C beef, 1/3 C beef and 1/2 C beef (this one will be shared unless it shrinks a lot).

It's already starting to happen, I noticed. And I'm not looking forward to it at all. I may need to go back on Lexapro in order to deal with it. ![]()

Good morning, couch peeps.
I'm going to have a hissy fit right now.... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't want to mow the lawn this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, whew, I feel better. It's going to be such a beautiful day and it just makes sense for me to mow the lawn this morning. My daughter will be occupied with her friend. I made everything that I planned to for the bbq today. I will have the time. It's going into the 80's and then hitting the 90's later in the week. So, this is the ideal time to mow. But I don't want to. Dammit.

I made coffee in a percolator this morning - this was an experiment for me, my second attempt using a stove top percolator and it did well this time. The first time it was not good. For my usual morning coffee, I use a moka pot. The percolated coffee was not as strong, but it was tasty. I added a couple of pinches of salt to the grounds basket which I think helped. And I figured out how long (or closer) to perc it. The first time I did not perc long enough and the coffee was way to weak. Basically just brown water.

Hmm, I just put my photo as my profile pic. I keep going back and forth as to whether I want to do that or not. I guess I'm a little paranoid about someone who might know me associating my posts with me. KWIM? There's a reason why my username is something "not me"

It's pouring rain here this morning, and I am so happy about it! Usually there is a mass at the cemetery where my dad and all my relatives are buried and my mom makes a HUGE scene if I don't go. The rain avoids the scene and the whole conversation.
My H wants to plan stuff for today and I want to exercise, bathe and then lie around all day. Our house is gross, and I just don't ****ing care anymore. I want to lie around, watch movies and crochet. ![]() |

I smoked the bacon myself and it was hot smoked, so it is cooked. Plus I do eat most of my pork medium and not well done. The pork hysteria of our parents is not necessary any more in my opinion (and from what I have read). Here is some info and opinion on it. There are others from actual sciency/professional sites as well.

I usually eat bacon limp and not crispy at all (which is always a bit of a thing for each of my past partners to deal with - that first breakfast or two - but I win them over and all of them that I am in touch with now eat their bacon like I do = and like the british). |

I love limp bacon as well (LOL), but my son likes it crispy and I have learned to like it as well.
I was looking at my wet dog lying on the couch, on a sheet that my H got out and put on the couch just for her, and thought that this is one of the many things I like about him. He also just tenderly carried our elderly cat into the other room to give her wet food. He really is sweet a lot of the time. |

Morning couch. I'm all caught up on the old couch and new couch now. Glad I missed some of the "arguing" on the old couch...prevented me from getting involved, so I didn't end up having to put my foot in my mouth.
Never ended up cleaning yesterday, instead I fell asleep and slept most of the day away. Bad Squirrel. Hopefully I will get some cleaning done today. Now that it is summer I need to better stay on top of it than I did during the school year. No big plans for today. Just chill basically (and maybe clean a little). Have to help my dad measure a job tomorrow. Then I will learn how much he pays for helping him. Yes, I probably should have discussed this prior to actually helping him, but I am just "trusting" that it will be a fair amount. He can be a jerk about T and pdoc and meds and stuff like that, but he isn't the type who would pay beans for work. See pdoc tomorrow afternoon. Have lots of questions about the new med he put me on 6 weeks ago. I want to know if some of the things I have been experiencing are possible "results" of the med. Good things not bad things. I'm just curious. Well, I am hungry, so I need to go eat something. Too late for breakfast, too early for lunch...what is that called, brunch I think? Though I won't eat a whole meal, so maybe I should just call it a snack. I'll pop back in later. I hope everyone has a good day. |

Good afternoon, people. Things are really chaotic at work, so I've worked from home most of the day today. Just a couple of more weeks, then the semester ends and we'll get a bit of breathing space, hopefully. I worked a lot over the weekend as well, so I think I might take the rest of the afternoon off. I managed to remember that yesterday was Mother's Day, but my mum wasn't home when I called, so I got hold of her today instead. Yay for guilt trips.
I hope you'll all have a good day, or have had a good day, as the case may be. |

I am not in the US. Mother's Day falls on different dates in different parts of the world. In my country it is always on the last Sunday of May.
