ughhh... Lola... so sorry

I don't have nice thoughts about families who let their pedophile children move back in with them... Most of the registered Megan's Law people in my area are all living with family members. I know it doesn't solve the problem and its totally "not in my backyard mentality" but honestly these people wouldn't be able to afford to live in my town if you just got out of prison and as small minded as I may sound... I like that...

Oh don't worry I talked about it plenty last year!!! Ya like the way I just casually threw that out there?! it took me 3 tries to start my own thread about it, that's what I remember! It happened on the friday before memorial day, so then when anybody asked me what I was doing for the summer, I was like, I already DID it, I saved a life -what are YOU doin'??

i had a sex offender living 3 houses away from me and for a bit didn't know it. i dont know how this was allowed but he lived in a house full of children .i dont know if they were his or not but my son went over there a few times to play with one of them untill the bus driver who lived down from me in the other direction informed me of it . i went and got the list and sure enough he was messing with kids . my son never went close to that house again and i would not let him play with the kids either. oh and for those who don't know that is how to do the best you can to protect your innocent children from abusers. keep them away

Lola.... up your prices for him...

why would a mother let her son who messed up her whole family move back in? I mean I wouldn't disown my child because its a "mothers love" but it doesn't mean I would want that type of responsibility... what if he did something to another neighbor's kid again... Nope my kid would be on his own...

Thanks, Hankster. I'm trying to take that in, although he wasn't really putting it in the context of what occurred between us, if that makes any sense. It was more of a general statement, not an admission. I'm really hoping we can figure this all out and communicate it in a way that's easy for both of us to hear.

Off to the wildlife clinic. The baby mallards are ready to be released, and I live on a pond with mallards of similar age and size. SO...off to get 6 mallards.

Hoping my niece can stop by after work with little niece so she can watch.

I better grab some water fowl food while I'm there, cause I am going to be worried sick about the little buggars for days.

OH...Lola...don't let him back in. Just say "sorry, I don't serve your kind".

These people HAVE to live somewhere. Which sucks, and is why I want them marred in some way so that every child knows he/she is dangerous. A giant "MONSTER" tattoo across their forehead may work...but I still think castrating them is a good idea. (sorry maple, I am not as kind as you)

Releasing wild critters you've helped to grow up or recover is the best feeling in the world.

It makes up for the ones we lose.

I really need to look into doing some volunteering with animals....I think that would be so good for me. Of course, my efforts really need to be put into finding full time work. I've been searching online for the last couple hours and applying to jobs. It's depressing, though.

ETA: Trigger warning. Discussion of sex offender. Sorry, MUE.

As part of being an attorney in a small town, I happen to know who a lot of the sex offenders are. I was in line at the local grocery store one time, and this guy was flirting madly with this pre-teen girl. The mom was kind of blowing it off, the way some people do when a guy flirts like that -- just assuming it's harmless fun because he's older and the girl is so young. The woman was checking out, guy was behind her and then I was behind the guy. I finally leaned around the guy, and got the mom's attention. I just said, "You know this guy is a registered sex offender, right?" Her eyes got huge, she whipped her daughter around the far side away from him and glared at him. He turned around and glared at me. I gave him what my husband refers to as my "I could kill you without blinking" stare, right back at him. He couldn't keep meeting my eyes and got out of line and left. The woman thanked me and the sales clerk asked if I wanted someone to walk me to my car. I didn't, because the guy is a total coward, but the clerk was nice to ask.

No need to apologize, MKAC. I am trying to be more open to hearing things that are triggery for me....Damn CSA. Just hard for me to chime in on those discussions cuz it stirs up anxiety.

I love what you did....and I'd imagine that's something my T would be thrilled about if it was something I did. Brave.
