Morning couch.
Been a busy couple of days and just got a chance to log on. Looks like I missed the discussion about dying hair. ![]() Lola, I hope your move went well and you are getting unpacked okay. As far as leaving the AC colder to make pets happy...I would if I needed to. Luckily my cats seem to be okay with the temperature I keep it on, so I haven't encountered that situation yet. Well, I worked with my dad yesterday. He only made 1 rude comment. I ignored it and "let it go" and luckily he didn't persist. It was a longer job...4 hours...but hey...that's still over 10 bucks an hour, so pretty much woth it. He pays by the job...not by thye hour. $50 bucks per job I help with. Well...I need to go eat something for breakfast...I woke up later than usual and haven't had a chance to fill my belly yet. I'll check back in later. I hope everyone has a good day. |

Good morning! I do keep the A/C on when I leave the house these days for the dog. It is just so hot without it on in here. H thinks it is a waste of energy and money, but I think it is just proper pet ownership!
Anways- T this afternoon, last week he had not done anything to get the ball rolling as far as us going to the site of the rape. He has to talk to the other T to coordinate a time that would be good for all three of us. He also, has to get in touch with some people in that area b/c it is on a local army base and we will be walking around people's yard.. We don't need mps getting suspicious. I really do like my T and he is great at the therapeutic part of his job, but when it comes to the extras (Phone calls, writing letters, e-mails, setting up details like this) he kind of sucks at it!!! I may be very pissed off if there hasn't been movement on this since last week!

Morning all. Have a trial set for this morning and the other attorney made a motion for continuance yesterday at 3:15, which I did not receive until about 4:30. Their only witness has not been served with the subpoena. Balancing the fact that my client would like to settle against the possibility that I can get it dismissed by opposing the continuance. Case is from August 2011, so maaaaayyyyyybe the judge would dismiss it. But if I oppose the continuance and the judge DOESN'T dismiss it, then the other side is going to be pissed and refuse to deal -- I know this guy, and I'm pretty sure that is what will happen. Still cannot decide.
It's easier to think about that than the fact that my older sister called me last night. She is trying really hard to fill in gaps in her memory and wanted to talk to me about stuff. I talked to her some, but then got overwhelmed and told her I needed to fix dinner for the family (which I did). Still not sure how much I want to talk about things with her. |

Healed, I hope he's done all the preliminary work.
MKAC, I'm sure whatever decision you make will be the best one! Migraine, Day 10 for me. I'm really tired of it. And I can't take anything because I'm in the office. Grrr. |

Finally home, went for a long swim after the wildlife clinic with Sadie. She loves her life vest, and she keeps up with me fairly well. Maybe she will become my full time swim buddy. Lex likes the water, but she hates going in deep, so she won't come.
MKAC...this thing with your sister has me thinking. I kind of wish one of my older sisters would fill in some details for me. One time she has a photo of her and my older brother on a swing set...it was black and white. I asked her if the swing set was red, because I had a flash of a rusty swing in my head. She said "don't be an idiot, it was blue". Grrrrr. It's so hard to put pieces together in my head. Also MKAC (because I am feeling long winded), I agree with your H and your T. I don't find you to be bossy or mean at all. You make suggestions, GOOD suggestions usually, and you give people a way of looking at their own behavior. You are also quite honest about your own issues and how you perceive things. I love your posts, and just because a few people take them the wrong way, please don't stop being yourself. One more thing...it's been said that "do-gooders" and "helpers" do so for their own benefit. Well, today I helped a lot of people, and several animals. I can honestly say that the only thing I got out of that was less time for me and a headache. They are better from it. I did not tell anyone what to do, and the only advice I gave was telling a vet tech that the larger reptarium might work better for a pair of blue jays. So, I am quite sure that when I volunteer, I do it for others and not myself.

CL...have you tried Butterbur? It's an herb that is actually poisonous if you ate it raw, but when compounded into a supplement it really has been shown to help migraines.

As long as do-gooders don't try to do good at me or people I represent who don't want it, then have at it. I don't try to selflessly do good as I don't think it is either possible or a positive thing for anyone to believe or to strive for- the doer or the recipient. I do believe that do-gooders get at least a feeling that they did good, even in the face of lack of appreciation, they have persevered - which is still a benefit to them internally. But I do understand that others feel differently.

Evening couch.
I had a fun day. I took C to the zoo (I had 2 free passes) this afternoon. Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for an early dinner. He wanted apple juice with his kids meal, so I let him have what he wanted...apple juice is okay for him to drink. I remembered when we went on a field trip to the zoo for a special education event during the school year that he was wanting to sit down every time we passed a bench and sometimes if there was no bench around, he'd try to sit on the ground. During the field trip we really couldn't sit down that much. So what did I do today, so he and I could enjoy the zoo and not have one of get tired and have to leave before seeing all the animals? I rented a wheel chair (the kid I watch has Cerebal Palsy, so walking long distances is hard on him). He enjoyed being pushed around instead of having to walk. We also rode on the trian that takes you up close and personal with some of the animals because I had 2 free tickets to do that as well. Our local zoo is a small zoo, but it's still nice to visit sometimes. I am thinking about buying a membership so I can go as often as I want for free and be allowed to bring 1 guest each time. It would be worth it overall. Then C and I could go a few more times before summer is over. When I asked him when we got back to his house if he had fun, he said yes. When I asked if he wanted to go back, he said yes again. Just to make sure he wasn't saying yes to everything (which he sometimes does), I asked him if we saw any lions at the zoo (our local zoo doesn't have any ferocious animals) and he said no. So I guess he enjoyed the zoo. He said his favorite animal that he was was the giraffes. I wanted to feed the giraffes (you can buy giraffe food to do this), but none of them came up to eat for us. I guess they were all full. We also skipped the bird aviary since wheelchairs and strollers weren't allowed in there due to narrow walkways. In other news...I heard back from my step-mom's nephew. I offered my Wii games that the PE department at school couldn't use to his kids. I sent them a list of what was available and asked which games they wanted. He finally answered back that they wanted all of them. ![]() Well...I am going to go surf the net. I'll try to pop back in before heading to bed. Have to take C to camp in the morning. |

Well I'm in and almost don't setting things up.. My office nook and a few pics and the storage area to go...and a fish tank. Daisy is acclimating well and W left today. Went to dinner with friends from out of town (work friends) it helped to get my mind off things. My old T has emailed a few times to check on me, he really is sweet. Found out today my major project was pushed back and a bunch of people are getting layer off...makes me nervous with just moving, that's all I need right now. I'm pretty much living on 5 hr energy and Ativan , hoping to ween myself down over the next few days...work on Monday. I need to do so many things still and finding a new T is one. Wiki I suggest the same to you, even the strongest people can only be strong for so long. ((((Hug)))). Night one and I'm ok.... Couch comes on Tuesday , table on Friday and after all the decorating is gone ...I think ill lose it then.
On another note saw this video on FB today and thought of SD Nerdy Love Song with Kitten |

I think I have actually used some of those lines. And I always have a new kitten when I get a new girlfriend.

They advertise up here to visit the zoo in winter. But again, really nice. I wish your parents appreciated you more. But I know my t will be moved by this story.

Morning couch.
Just checking in and chiling a little bit before heading to C's to get him ready for camp. I found the color changing silly putty I bought a couple years ago when I was on a "I want toys to feel like a kid again" kick. It doesn't change color anymore, but that's okay. C loves silly putty and won't care whether or not it changes color, so I am taking it to "bribe" him to get out of bed with this morning if he's being difficult about waking up today. ![]() I decided to get a membership to the zoo. It's good for 1 year, so I can use it on weekends, winter break, spring break, and next summer. I'll probably take C back to the zoo after he is all done with camp and I am with him a few mornings (for several hours) a week. I like the zoo. Well. I am off to relax a little and wake up a little more before heading out the door. I hope everyone has a good day. |

Hey couch peeps.....Sorry I've been MIA. Still at my sister's house but I am leaving today as I have an assignment and then have the a/c repairman coming tomorrow morning, then have T and then possibly another assignment afterwards (I hope!). My BIL went to work this morning and took the kids with him. He's going for a half day. My sister and niece are at work - so I have their house all to myself and the puppies at the moment. Feels good, because most times this house is filled with noise and chaos. Now I understand better why my daughter doesn't enjoy being here a lot of the time. It's just way too loud and tense in this house. The kids are so vindictive at times - the yelling, whining, insulting, bickering, etc. I'm sure it makes my daughter appreciate home that much more.
I'm scared that I'm going to come home to dead pets today because of how hot my house is without a/c. I keep getting images in my mind of them running out of water....ack! I am leaving here in about an hour to go home. I really hope the pets are ok. critter - I feel ya about the migraines. My migraines are pretty constant, with peaks of horribleness every couple days that last a few days. My migraines were much worse, though, when I wasn't getting botox injections in the base on my skull. My next appt. is on the 23rd with my neurologist, and I really hope he has some botox on-hand to give me (my insurance no longer covers it so he is donating it to me whenever he has it). This past month has been pretty bad with the migraines. I've heard that feverfew, magnesium and potassium supplements taken on a regular basis can help migraines - although my dr didn't want me taking feverfew because of my liver. Lola - Glad that you've settled in and went out with some friends. Keeping my fingers crossed that the job is secure for you. Hello to all my couch peeps....hope everyone has a good day!

Moral dilemma for today: my son works for our Congressperson as an intern. He only has a few days left. I follow her on Facebook and she's suddenly started posting a lot of things that are simply false. Comment? No comment? I have commented two times and simply kept them neutral, as in: "that hasn't been my experience. My premiums have dropped and I received a rebate from my insurance company under Obamacare/Romneycare." Also posted a link to an article from a neutral news source that said the opposite of what she said. My son is really pissy. Thoughts?

Well C is at camp. He got his "present" today. Silly putty. I couldn't make it change color anymore (it used to change almost immediately after touching it with you hands). C got it to though after playing with it for about 30 minutes. I guess I didn't play with it long enough. I guess with age it became less sensitve to heat. Who knows.
Get rid of my Wii games tomorrow. Dropping them off at my step mom's nephew's after I get off from the senior place. All 25+ of them. :-P How I accumulated so many games I have no clue. But it should keep them busy for a while. Well...I think I may head to the zoo today just for fun. I want to see the animals more. I want to wait for the ones that are eating/sleeping to come out and walk around. C didn't want to wait for those ones yesterday...so we just passed by the "empty" exibits. I could take a guest, but I don't have anyone to go with me. But I'm sure the zoo will let me in without a guest when I buy a membership and use it. Saves them money. I pay for 2 on my membership and only use 1. I'll check back in later. Animal time for me. |

Mkac - idk, it's politics. If you didnt support who your son was working for, why did he take that job? Cognitive dissonance, you know? Like you cant have you cake and eat it too. If you're going to work for the other side, you accept those those consequences. I think by posting, you expose him as a spy for the other side. Which makes things awkward for him to say the least. This is not about what you personally know to be correct - it is about choosing sides. And that's where I think it becomes a psychological issue for you.

Arrived home - and the pets are just fine. Whew!
It's quite warm in here - 90 degrees - but the fans are blowing and it's tolerable if I'm not moving around too much. Gonna get a cool shower and head out to my assignment.
