I had a bad experience with a T who started using his nickname for his sister with me (we have the same name) then it all went down hill from there.

Google hits for pavlova X, for various values of X:

Sweden: 529 000
Britain: 538 000
Germany: 669 000
New Zealand: 691 000
America: 896 000
Australia: 2 820 000
Austria: 4 270 000

Of course, not all these hits refer to a giant meringue with fruit on top.

But it does look like Austria is the pavlova capital of the world.

I've whittled Madame T's crimes down to two:

1. She has no technique for getting us past a clash of wills.
2. She refuses to calm me down when I'm upset.

Given that these failings reinforce each other, it is not surprising that we keep getting ruptures.

It took me no more than five minutes.

How long did it take you to write that post?
Have you nothing better to do?

Are you ready to vote tomorrow?

Google does it.

You type in:

Pavlova Sweden

and it replies:

About 529,000 results (0.22 seconds)

That means you can impress people with a cheap statistic, but it's largely meaningless.

PS:

2 720 000 hits for Pavlova Samoa!

Not just largely meaningless Swedish pages usually do not include the word "Sweden" anywhere, nor do most German or Austrian pages include their country names in a foreign language. Google has language specific searches, which are more useful for this kind of purpose (but don't differentiate between different German speaking countries, of course)
Thanks for this!

Granite - not long to wait! I am a big cat lover. I have three. No food names here though.

How about Pickle? (or Pickles, as I think you say across the pond!)

Muffin?

(Zucchini? Rocket? Caesar (as in salad)? Parsnip? I actually know a cat called Parsnip, so it must be a name!)

ETA, sorry I am way behind. The couch grew five pages when I wasn't looking

CE, thanks for the heads-up about the glycemic index. I used to know more years ago when my dad first became a diabetic, but since then I haven't kept up on it. I am not a diabetic, but I suffer with hypoglycemia on occasion when I'm careless with my eating (which could eventually become diabetes). I didn't realize that white bread was more effective than, say, a piece of chocolate. When my sugar crashes, I usually become a savage beast who has to eat anything in site as quickly as possible to try to get the effects to lessen. I'll do my homework so I'm better prepared. Thanks!

I agree with Mast, the statistics are skewed but we British and Europeans are very educated about pavlova

People are more formal here in continental Europe. My T still calls me Mrs X and we shake hands at the beginning and end of every session, even after four years. I found the formality here strange when we first moved but now I like it.

BPA, I hope you get your appointment.

Holy Moly, it's chilly outside today! I woke up with my bedroom window wide open and my ceiling fan on, shivering. I didn't realize the temperature was going to drop so much overnight. No wonder I had a massive migraine coming on.

It feels good, though, to sip on a hot cup of coffee out on my deck with a chill in the air. Mmmm.

My daughter and her BFF are going to a Back to School Swim Party at the swim club tonight. I hope it's not too cold for them to enjoy it. I'll be packing her a sweatshirt and extra towels, that's for sure. Her BFF is sleeping over tonight, so she'll be happy.

When my T uses his cell phone to email me, he signs off using only the first initial of his first name.
