Thanks for the support, Couchsters. Ready, H was not all that busy (he's been playing computer games at work again), and there was no conflict involved. He was too busy playing on his computer to stop and do what needed to be done. However, he has been helping me this morning a bunch, getting ready for camping, and he went to our local Ren Fest with me and we had a great time.

Now it's time to finish packing up for camping. D is feeling better and is going to go!! The three of us will be in a tent tonight, roughing it. With electricity and phones. LOL D is planning to bring a power strip to have in the tent with an extension cord running to the electrical hookup for the campsite. In order to get a corral for the horses, we have to have an electrical site, even though we won't have the trailer with the living quarters. The friend I share it with is competing in another State this weekend.

Well that is frustrating but I'm so glad you are not letting it impact your weekend fun plans.

My movie, "Good ol' Freda" was fantastic! It was about the beginning of the Beatles and the 17 year old girl who was their secretary and the president of their fan club. It showed all the Beatles' parents and played many of their early songs and explained the breakup. A lot of clips from the past. Just really great.

I am dragging right now. I ended up not getting to the store.....so I made spinach dip that will be served with pretzel crisps....ranch dip with baby carrots....cheese and crackers....a key lime cheeseball with graham crackers...and a berry cake. That should be plenty.

I should have been out the door already and at my friend's house, but I haven't even showered yet. *sigh*

My niece never showed up today to help me bathe the kittens. No surprise there. She knew I was planning to go out around 5 PM - so what does she do? She texts me at 5:20 PM saying she knows I'm busy but can I text for a bit....and goes on to ask me what she should do about her life.....*sigh*

I told her that's a loaded question and asked her if she could narrow it down. She said she needed a loaded answer. I told her that she is the only one who can decide what she wants to do with her life. Figure out where you want to be and put together some concrete plans with measurable steps to get there - with a creator mindset. I need to take my own advice. LOL.

I do need to get back on track with setting boundaries and respecting my own limits. I have always struggled with taking on more than I can handle. I'm not sure why it's so hard lately. I was doing so well with it.

Perhaps its easier to be busy than to be present...

Ah yes.....so true. I know this pattern - the running away - and just keeping busy and taking on so much until I end up overwhelmed - and then crash.....Even though I've been busy with work, the kittens, migraines and pain, I feel that dark cloud so close by. and am fearful of sinking into that dark hole of depression. Blech.

I am getting out tonight, though, which is good.....problem is, my role in this particular crowd is one of providing support and guidance to others. My friend's unemployment ran out, so she has been struggling - big time. And her other friend that will be there is quite self-consumed with turmoil about her married boyfriend not leaving his wife for her. This was supposed to be a night where more people were going to hang out by a campfire. Looks like that didn't pan out, so it ends up being a crowd of people who I can either work to help bring up - or drag myself down with them....better than stay staying home.

Okay, after several rain delays, prelims have finally finished. My son's band came in 1st. Finals will start at 8:15.

I love drum & bugle corps. Next summer im definitely gonna catch a show. Good luck to your son!
