OH it started out as a harvest festival I always thought it was something to do with the arrival of the English. So much to learn so little memory space to store it.

Lola- please come back as soon as you can. We miss you already!
BPA- great news about the disability pension!
Granite-

and/or for everyone else and a Happy Thanksgiving too!

We celebrate Thanksgiving and will be going over to my BILs house with my dh's family. I'll be going shopping with my MIL and my SIL as we go together every year.

Question for everyone. Is it normal to feel lost or something when not seeing your T for what could be 10-14 days? I had been seeing him twice a week, but because of scheduling issues, it'll be that long before I see him again. I'm questioning whether or not he's even still there or will be there when I return. I think this is happening because we're working on really hard stuff and now there is a really big gap. Unlike when he went on vacation last spring, we purposely didn't work on big stuff knowing I'd be left sitting with it. Now I just feel lost. We have no out of session contact, so I can't check in with him at all. I have been checking for other appt times to change my appt, but so far, no luck. I'm trying to ground myself in any way possible. Sometimes the distraction works, sometimes not. Lots of tears- very unlike me. I just saw him on Monday- you'd think that it's been months since I'd seen him last! I am writing in my journal so that I can share with him what's happening when we do see each other next. This is all so strange. I really didn't expect this reaction, otherwise we would've worked through coping strategies and how to handle things in our last session.

Sorry- didn't mean to ramble.

I actually think thanksgiving itself is one(or used to be until this year with stores being open) of the lesser commercial holidays americans observe.
I do not go shopping on Black Friday. I try not to leave the house on black friday.

I will get more work because of people acting out or over-drinking and being with family (family is a killer for a lot of people) --so they will be taken to psych units and put on holds with an attorney appointed to represent them. Combined with the cold snap we are having - I have already received several notices of detention this week.

OK, here's my favorite Thanksgiving song. I would wait and play this tomorrow, but I will be traveling and at my sister-in-laws without internet access. Have you already guessed? Arlo and the group W bench.

I love being out on black Friday.. Not for the deals really, but to be around people. Or maybe its to get away from my family.. Either way, my bff is in town and we are going to head out for breakfast and shopping. Friday is usually T day and we won't have our normal session because of the holidays... so it will help keep my mind of no t and my sucky home life at the moment.

I saw Arlo one time, 1989 I think. And he did not do Alice's Restaurant or Coming Into Los Angeles, I was young and aggravated at the time. I have gotten over it. Very big of me, I know.

I'm trying to mentally prep myself for thanksgiving. Oddly, I'm spending it with someone who I used to fight with/hate in my teens.

I was going really just to see a sister that I never see and miss, but it turns out she won't even be there. Backing out now would be ungracious, and too late to take up a friend's offer. Trying to be adult about it all.

Hey y'all.
Can't sleep...had a weird crazy day...crazier night.

Granite....I am so sorry. AFIB is nothing to take lightly, and the coumidin/warfarin is yucky stuff. I can see how that would screw with SI... dang. That puts you in a bind, but if you don't take it you risk a stroke. I don't know if you know anyone who's had a stroke, but it's hell. I hope you and your T can figure out a way around it.

Lola...LOLA...LOLA....OH NOES! I hate this. Hate it I tell ya. Please pm me if you sneak back on, I won't tell. I just want to come out there and kick some commie butt.

SD...My xt used to tell me I should smoke pot all the time. He was a big advocate. I would inhale it (not smoke it) and use it if it were legal. Right now there's this whole deal of it staying in your blood tests for months, and I'd be worried about that. But that's me, I worry. I will try to get a script though, we'll have dispensaries here next year. I hope you do get to blow something up today though.

BP - the whole thanksgiving thing is more like a traditional family gathering. Sure, it's supposed to be a reminder of the pilgrims coming to America and massacring, um I mean eating with the natives...but it's more than that now. It's not really something people consciously object to normally. It's kind of a thanks for a bountiful harvest, and becomes thanks for loved ones, etc. Turkeys are just plentiful this time of year. I think the first one was probably more local fare, like seafood and cranberries and squash...lol. I will gladly take photos for you.
