D absolutely loved her Juicy Couture purse. She hugged me and kept saying, "mom, this is way too much". No, not enough. I love that kid, and every cosmetologist needs a pricey purse, right?

Thanks Wiki....my issue with escalators is a fear of heights... I can do the ones in dept store cause it has walls next to them like a stairwell but the ones in the mall are open like your stairwell at your house and that makes me really anxious

I dont think Healed in anyway was trying to condone her action...I think she said she regretted it...
I know I have no right to judge Healed cause I have lost it with my kids a time or two |

Thanks RTS
I find it really hard to believe that I am the only mom here that has blown up with their kids, mental illness or not and regretted it terribly afterwards. I blew up, I realized I need to get away and I did.. I went in my bedroom and just calmed down for most of the night. Like I said, I feel bad afterwards and it is not a pattern or the way I usually parent my kids.

T wanting to send me to the hospital had nothing to do with parenting my kids.. My kids despite my depression are well cared for. I function at work, I take care of my kids when I need to. I isolate when my h is home and can care for my kids. I yelled at my son ONCE and felt terrible about it- I don't think this makes a case for me being separated from my kids right here and now.

Healed- i think it happens to the best of parents from time to time. Three out of the four therapists I have seen in my life (the 4th not having children at all) have all said it happened to them with their children at some time or another. I think putting it in perspective is a good thing.

Not to jump in where I haven't been involved, it just seems everyone is really stressed out. I just came to give these
![]() ![]() We all care for one another, and have made mistakes. I think, for me at least, when a subject such as this comes up, I tend to put my own emotions and experiences in there with my own family and how they would scream at me; instead of looking at it objectively. But from what I read healed does not make this a pattern, takes care of her kids, and loves them. She also regrets it very much. I agree she needs to talk to her T about this, and work it out. But being hospitalized is her and her T's choice, and business. No one is condoning what she did--not even healed. I just don't want us to fall into judging one another. We're here to support and be there. We're all in a bad place in our lives, otherwise we wouldn't need our T's. I just wanted to show some support for everyone. ![]() |

Healed made a mistake and owned up to it.... there is no one here who can not say they too have not made mistakes with their kids. Yelling at children can be very triggering for a good portion of people on here, but I would like to think we all know Healed well enough to know this was an isolated incident and can move past this.

And the fact that she chose to share it I think is a very honest thing to do, and shows she is sorry. I agree with CC.
On another unrelated subject, Peace cranes are difficult to make ;-; |

Thanks for the show of support all.. I get that children getting yelled at is touchy subject, hell.. I have huge issues when my h is even just a little stern with my D.. I do come from an abusive home myself. Lets move on, please? I yelled at my son, I felt bad, knew I handled it wrong, step back, and then came to pc to vent about it, how it made me feel yucky as I am sure it made him feel as well.

The holidays, except for the music all the time which I find annoying, are not a big thing to me one way or the other. But I need some sunshine. It has been grey, drizzly and miserable here all week.
I have baked bread and made soup and am planning the xmas roast beast. And I am going to make a panforte for the first time. I don't like regular fruitcake, but I do like panforte

My family live across the country from me and so I get to choose with whom I spend my time without concern about them. I have close friends and we have some seasonal gatherings that we have had for years. On xmas eve we will watch the mormon tabernacle choir on tv. On xmas itself, I will wake up, make my partner and I xmas breakfast, the dogs their new xmas toys, go to a brunch for a short while, come home, walk the dogs, prepare xmas roast beast, have a quiet evening.

Another Christmas tradition for is spending time listening to a local DJ and his mom (and up until a few years prior his dad before he died) on Christmas in the late morning and early afternoon (I have been listening for at least 15 years) they feel more like family to me than my real family (it does help that I know the DJ very well) |

Up here on the 55th parallel (almost 56th actually) we definitely appreciate the solstice although no one really talks about it. We got 7 hours of daylight - 9-4! Which means that I don't get to see the daylight at all - I get to work around 8am (and can in fact see the moon and stars still) and I don't typically leave until around 4, so it's set then.
Looking forward to June when we get 17.5 hours!

Yeah... I'm from the 45th parallel, and comparing what I had as a kid to here? It's such a big difference!!
