This is my first G and T of the summer - and summer is gone. A friend gave me this bottle of gin last september and I decided it was time to open it.

How long is beer good for? I bought some for visitors who didn't drink it and I only marginally like it (prefer hard ciders!) It's gotta be 8 months old

Wondering what to do with a giant box of (old) Blue Moon. No slug problems here with our drought.

I would probably just try drinking it. I have consumed old beer (guinness and some various ports) and never noticed.
I would turn bud light, if for some reason it darkened my door, into slug beer.

My thoughts exactly!! Blue Moon is drinkable unlike the Buds, Millers and Coors swill of the world.

Really would like some Amaretto to make a Toasted Almond right now instead of any beer.

I don't know what a toasted almond is. I only know of amaretto and orange juice.

Nothing fancy, just this

Toasted Almond

2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
2 oz light cream

Shake, strain into highball glass.
Thanks for this!

Ah. I have to avoid the cream based drinks. But I imagine one would be tasty.

Ha.

And "Ha" again I say, as "Ha." is apparently too short to count as communication on psychcentral.

The toasted almond sounds delightful, and lord knows I could use one if you're pouring.

I am out of anything good in the house!!! I haven't indulged in anything since the holidays. I might have had a margarita since but given the family history, I try to avoid drinking.

I would give you a toasted almond if I could!!

(And I love Steve Martin! He is an interesting writer too not just Shopgirl, I really like "The Pleasure of my Company")

How about I make Blue Hawaiians for everyone instead? The Koro Bar Cart is stocked! You have to do the Elvis impression though.

I don't know what a Blue Hawaiian is either. I tend to stick with the simple scotch, whiskey, gin and tonic. I don't drink vodka ever. Unfortunate high school experience.

I do love this one:

A Dark and Stormy

2 ounces Gosling's Black Seal Rum
3 ounces Barrit's Ginger Beer
Lime wedge for garnish

I was 'ha-ing' at what I perceived to be your sarcastic post saying nothing like a banjo to say happy.

The song is so melancholy.

Though, I suppose no reason is really needed for Ha. It works as a non-sequitur.

I have a co-worker who does that frequently, though for her, it is "No" instead of "Ha."

Given my workplace, it makes oodles of sense.

I thought that PC wouldn't let you post something as short as "ha"

Word count and all...

I like to be efficient in my drink making, so I combine and omit as many ingredients as possible. For Blue Hawaiians, I buy Coconut rum and mix w/ Blue Curacao and Pineapple Juice.

How do you feel about flavored vodkas, SD? I like Marshmallow Vodka mixed with OJ. So good.
Thanks for this!

Classical taste aversion has rendered vodka unpalatable in any form.

Ah no - I listened to it and I always find banjo to be happy. I did not listen to the words - are they the melancholic part?
I was not being sarcastic.
