You don't have to drink daily to be an alcohol. Many people drink just on days off or the weekends. I thought your living situation does not allow alcohol ? What happens if you get caught ? If I remember correctly your under 21 so , your having someone buy it for you?

I'm sorry that you can't "see" whats happening to you, you are young and have a whole life ahead of you.. I hope you get help in some form of fashion before it's to late .

Take care .

You've mentioned how you hide it or you'll get kicked out; you don't drink socially as you get drunk on your own; you use the alcohol as a coping mechanism instead of healthier versions; it causes you distress; you go out of your way to get ahold of alcohol (I forget how, but you go a long way away to get it or something)....

It's the beginning of alocholism. With you, it isn't even masked as a fun social activity like it often is for many college age people.

Sorry for the double-post...

Boston Any/Out-of-network Insurance Therapist - Any/Out-of-network Insurance Therapist Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts (MA) - Any/Out-of-network Insurance Counseling Boston

Just doing a simple search of trauam+addiction+any insurance in Boston brings up a BOATLOAD of therapists. Go through and contact all of the ones that share an area code with your school.

ETA: Just looking at one of them, Meaghan Newhall, she sounds like she accepts and works with pretty much all of the issues you've shown having...

I have. The issue is that they aren't available evenings/weekends. It's really hard to schedule anything when my schedule is so ridiculously inconsistent week by week.

To quote asshat Dr Phil;

"You can't change what you won't acknowledge..."

So prepare yourself for the fact that you will continue chasing your tail while perpetuating an already intense amount of pain, Until you admit you can't kick the alcohol on your own.

The only other angle would be refusing to give it up, and that certainly can't be right, because you seem intelligent enough in your posts. So you can't be stupid.

So your choices are to either get help for your alcoholism, or accept that things will never change.

Take care

Thrive Boston Counseling and Psychotherapy - Cambridge Counseling - Depression Anxiety Couples Counseling

There you go then. Lots of options for times, and they take a lot of different insurance. They also cover a large variety of issues, and have more than one location.

So you can contact them. They are available allll the time.

I never said I won't get help for it. I also never said it wasn't a problem. I said I'm not literally addicted and I won't do AA. I didn't say that I'm not drinking too much or that if I continue drinking like this I won't become addicted or that I'm using it to cope. I know I need help and I am talking to LCM about it and looking for a TT.

From what you've shown in these forums you do abuse alcohol, which is often a first step to alcoholism and should be taken seriously. One thing I was told a while back that really resonated with me is that you have to step outside your comfort zone to stop self destructive. Even though we may hate the way out lives are going, it's still difficult to take that step and do something that might enact real change, because it's too scary. But once you take that step with an open mind it's amazing what can happen. I really hope you get to the point where you can really start helping yourself.

Many/most ppl with CSA history recover and are able to live happily/healthily (at least I hope so).
I have (had?) cPTSD too and yes OBGYN was extremely difficult for me but still I learned to overcome it and go to my yearly visits as needed. I don't like it but what woman does, right?
It is not very pleasant experience afterall... But I refuse my past to define/hinder me anymore and will fight for every chance at normalcy I can get.
Growli, if you are suffering from pains you really should go. Yes, it's stressful (esp the first few times) but it comes with being a woman. Finding a nice, female doc might help. Plus it's extra sweet of your LC to offer to go with you as an emotional support.
