What I perceive to be hypersensitivity and over reaction to everything about children or the idea of children sometimes gets to me.
In real life, children themselves I can usually deal with. I actually do not mind babies. The entitled, self centered, narcissistic parents are usually the ones I want to bludgeon.

My dog is still limping from the strollering.

I have children and pets. Believe me, I get how annoying either/or can be. I'm pretty laid back unless it's a personal attack on one of my own. I'm also pretty tolerant of crying kids and pretty intolerant of clueless parents/pet owners.

I dislike clueless parents more, and I think there should be child - free zone choices for everything, but I also dislike people who let their dogs jump on me.

And I agree - heaven forbid.
I also take issue with those carts at the grocery store that have a huge plastic car attached to the bottom for kids to ride in. They are outrageously big and if one of them is in the aisle, don't even try to get around it. And then the kids are running around while a parent pushes the rider-less cart that takes up more than half the aisle. grrrr.

I take issue with those darn things too. They're a nuisance to push around, bang into everything and having a 7 year old whine at you for refusing to use one is tiresome to say the least. And, of course, kids being kids, they will insist in hopping out of the thing while you're trying to maneuver it and get their foot stuck in something and/or give you a heart attack.

I call them the stretch limo buggies. My 6 year old is too heavy for me to lift, so a cashier most helpfully showed her how to use the levels of baskets as stairs. Thanks but I was hoping to avoid a trip to the ER today.

Oh and they probably ride down the center of the aisles on purpose to avoid Stretch Armstrong children from grabbing everything in sight.

I usually have lots of thoughts go through my head during the day...of this is annoying or why does this person do that or need that? I've learned from recent events with my friend who has 2 special needs kids (not the same disease) that until I've spent a day in another person's shoes that I will not pass judgement.

I have never been a person who finds some parents and some children annoying.... But I imagine it must be rough... Because they are everywhere.

As long as they stay away from me and don't expect me to change or care because of them, they can do whatever they want.
I grocery shop in the middle of the day in areas with a lot of seniors or late at night to avoid being near children and their parents in grocery stores. I would pay more money on airlines for child-free flights. I usually walk my dogs in the dark to avoid families in the park.I go to restaurants that cater to adults and do not allow children. I frequent the non-child friendly coffee shop and avoid the one with the play area. I try not to do any shopping on the weekend or right after school hours. I never support the local farmer market saturday because of the insane attempts at family fun. I do not knowingly go near anything labeled child or family friendly.
I do what I can to avoid them. I am not going to move off the sidewalk so people can drive their suv sized stroller wherever they want. I am not going to stop swearing/censor things because someone brought their kid into an adult venue. I am not going to let a parent expect to inconvenience me because they have children. Other people's children are not my problem or responsibility.
A great part about being a lesbian of my age group is that I was never around a bunch of people who had children nor wanted them.

Needless to say, I am looking forward to winning $5 from my son. And I'm gonna take it, too!!

Is that wrong? LOL

Lol! Nah, it's just a large stroller for a 10 year old toddler He's small for 10, but still too big for regular strollers because he likes to drag his feet...

Granite hope you feel better soon. Being sick is the pits.

I'm desperately trying to sleep because it's back-to-work tomorrow after 5 days off for holidays. Had to wake up at the crack of dawn and now can't drift back off. Grrrrr.

Have a great day Couch!

There has been a bad flu thing going around here. Sounds unpleasant to have.

I was glad we went on Christmas break when we did. Students were starting to drop like flies. We all needed to get away from everyone's germs for awhile.

I am a little worried because of the already immune system suppressed situation here. If I even think I am getting any little thing, we both start wearing masks. The crazy part is going to the hospital daily for treatments and exposing her to all sorts of things.

We went through that wih my sister following her bone marrow transplant. It was such a Catch-22. She needed to go to the hospital for bloodwork and treatment, but going there was a risk in itself. She always had to where a mask (not just a simple surgical mask; this thing practically looked like a gas mask) when she was around anyone besides those of us that were always with her.

I found a Keurig coffee maker used for a steal for my husband and son for Christmas. It has become EVERYONE'S favorite Christmas gift. I've never been one for hot beverages, but I find I'm changing that opinion.

I know people who love their Keurigs. They never make coffee strong enough for my taste, but at least I can use my favorite coffee by using the reusable cups (for when I visit family who loves his).
I received a dedicated hot water machine as a present because of all the hot tea I drink in the winter. And I love it (I was skeptical at first but now it is great).
