People in the military are used to being told what to do and when to do it. A lot of stuff like food and shelter and transport is laid on and they never have to think about it.

Leaving the military is a lot like being released from prison. But ex-prisoners probably get more government support!

Healed - that sounds very proactive to me. Its like, youve got a plan, and this is what you need to put in place to even BEGIN to stay on track. Its waaaaaay to easy (for me anyway) to get sidetracked. Meanwhile im helping other people meet THEIR goals - whaaa?? Maybe not now, now im a slug, but before.

FINALLY got home after a long day out. I no longer double up on dr appts and grocery shopping and taking the cats to get spayed and neutered, and i am STILL bushed! Good news, a girl from my elementary school contacted me this morning, she lives in the area, i hafta call her to get together for lunch. We were all together for 8 to 12 years, we are like cousins, its so weird. I feel as close to my classmates as my cousins. We're just family. In a good way!
Thanks for this!

I am trying a mixture of raw honey with cayenne and cinnamon just mixed together and eaten as a sort of paste.

We got a feisty one couchies! She disagreed with SD. One does not simply disagree with SD. (Insert funny Internet meme of your choice here.)

Wonder how long this will entertain me?

I am also drinking unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar/lemon/honey/cayenne.
Before bed I just might add some whiskey.
I hate getting colds. They always segue into sinus infections for me.

Mixed in with some Bulleit is what I'm thinking here...

Also, cheers to Friday night! I've had a few and I'm chatty. So what's up, couch? I got to celebrate a good friend's birthday tonight in a neighborhood that I rarely get to hang out in, so it was nice to have a change of environment. We ate a few orders of nachos and chicken fingers and did more than a few shots of Jameson's. Now I'm trying to balance it all out with several glasses of water before I fall asleep.

Hope you all are having a great Friday!

I really really really want some fried pork dumplings right now, but I hate ordering off of seamless this late.

ETA: I'm gonna ride out this urge to order in junk food by listening to Nicki Minaj's "Truffle Butter" a few times on repeat, lol. I friggin love that beat. I'm the worst feminist ever haha.

The stbx is a little delusional with a very poor sense of personal responsibility...

I shouldn't watch this stuff...

Just got home from a lecture this evening "Tarot, Synchronicity, and the Psychology of CG Jung" that t told me about because she knows I'm very interested in synchronicity a la Jung. (Is she trying to turn me into some kind of intellectual? haha) I think I may have sprained my brain trying to keep up, but it was fascinating stuff and I loved it. I'm probably going to attend more lectures put on by this group (they're quite affordable) - since before long I won't have the opportunity of learning stuff from t anymore, I want to find something to keep my brain engaged in the area of psychology. I love learning, and this is a very affordable way to do so.

Now I am going to spend some time catching up on the couch!
Thanks for this!

Awww thank you for saying that JS! That made me feel all warm and glowy inside! I won't be going anywhere.... as I told t, I have no intention of stopping my "inner work" just because I won't be talking to her anymore. I have done a lot of "workings out" of stuff here, and plan to continue! The couch is my 2nd home.
Thanks for this!

I think it's a pretty big adjustment coming out of the military. My brother couldn't handle it - he got out for a short while, maybe a year or so? I have forgotten - then he went back in and he is career military now. He needs the structure the military provides; more than needs it, he thrives on it. He's told me in the past how difficult it was for him to be outside of that structure. I am sending good thoughts for your son as he relearns life outside the military. Hopefully school will be good for him as you said.
Thanks for this!

This is nostalgia for me. It's an herbal tea by a company called Celestial Seasonings if my memory is right. As I recall rose hips are a major ingredient. It was popular with the counterculture crowd way back when. I drank a lot of it then but haven't had it for decades.
