Many topics in the couch thread are in a foreign language to me - I spend a lot of time googling things like cool whip, Walmart, and the DMV.

(To be clear: I see that as a feature, not as a bug - I learn a lot of things which is always good.)
Thanks for this!

Ain't that the truth! So excited for warmer weather, this being one of my main reasons!

The good news is, they finally called me after 2 hours. The bad news is I gotta hustle back to the office if I don't want to be working all night! Thanks for listening, all! Enjoy your beer, Mast!

What is it with people who listen to music on their phones anyway? I don't get it. The sound quality is so poor it's little better than noise, and it's bloody annoying to anyone nearby. Headphones are not that expensive...

You think the DMV is bad. Try the SSA or the DES. *shudders* Two hours is nothing...

"Weißbier" is German for "white beer".
The "ß" is a letter replacing "sz".

Well, sort of. "Weissbier" does mean "white beer", literally, but I am pretty certain that it's a shortening of "Weizenbier", "wheat beer", which is what it actually is - beer brewed on wheat malt. And while the German name for the letter "ß" is "sz", the letter is a representation of "ss" rather than "sz" (so "Weißbier" is also written "Weissbier", but not "*Weiszbier".) Originally it was a ligature of "sz", but that's very far back in time.

I mostly drink stouts and porters. Sometimes ales. I am not big on the hoppy or fruity types. And I am extremely against adding weird things into my stouts - like coffee stout, chocolate stout etc.

I'm a wine drinker here. Enjoying a good shiraz. A boxed wine too. Much more economical and surprisingly I enjoy the flavor better than the bottled wines I used to get. I enjoy reds but rarely buy them because they don't keep well. Since taking a risk on a popular boxed wine, I've been enjoying reds far more often.

My essay plan looks rubbish. I think i have misunderstood the question. My lecturer is being no help at all. I have thousands ( not qite) but a lot readings. How do i separate the readings if they all basically say the same thing.

Pass along a white wine, red wine and a lager pleaes with a whiskey chaser.

I have discovered a new english comedy obsession. Its "I'm Sorry I haven't a clue" its aradio comedy panel show. Really great if you like wordplay. Its been around since early 70 and still has not lost its flavour as the keep inventing new games and rotating guest players. I'd provide a link but my ipad does not like it. Just go to youtube and type in "isihac"

I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Maybe if I liked alcohol at all and could have a few drinks once in a while, I would be less anxious?
Although every time I think about that, it reminds me of the bat**** crazy pdoc I saw for only one appt who was CERTAIN that I MUST be curbing my anxiety with alcohol. She asked me like 3-4 times if "I didn't have a few drinks when I was feeling anxious to take the edge off??" and looked incredulous when I repeatedly said no. Wth, lady.

Okay, I'm convinced. I'm about to go to Trader Joe's for veggie burgers, etc. I'll add a beer to my list. The t session today warranted it anyway.

Yes, ha, my T session today did make me want to drink, too, actually. I wonder if anyone else finds it really irritating when their therapist says, "I'm sorry." I think my T says it in lieu of actually understanding what I am upset about and to smooth things over, which just really pisses me off.

Also I think I have a crush on someone, you guys. I'm all kinds of mushy over this. This is so not me!
