Awww! Kitty love!

Yeah, I have to start looking into summer programs. My son is covered because he's disabled, but they fill up fast so I'll have to get started ASAP. For my daughter... I don't know. Maybe Boys and Girls club. Have to do something so I can work...
And then there's those bloody divorce papers. Argh! I hate paperwork! And I hate courtrooms with the blazing fury of a thousand firey Suns...

I have been thinking about that a lot too as far what to do with my kids during the summer. As long as I have worked since having kids, I have taught. So, we had breaks off together. Now, it is looking like I am going to be finding new work at the end of the school year, and I was like.. Crap, I will have to pay for care for my school aged kids during the summer.

I had a brilliant idea.. Everybody is outside, so now is a time to take a long hot shower without anybody coming in and interrupting twenty million times!!

Go for it Healed!
Just got off the phone with my parents. Time to go to the library before something else interrupts me.

Not sure if its the tiredness, the dissociation fuzzy-brain-ness or the pain killers but I cannot figure out exactly what this thread is about? Or is that the point?

It's about cool whip, and whatever Stopdog is cooking, and cats, particularly couch cats.

Eta: oh, and dogs eating icecream. Oh, no, wait a minute. That wasn't here, but it definitely should have been.

It's about special packages in the mail, for only adult eyes
it's about supporting our fellow couch friends
and Hankster's jokes!!

Went to a local flea market today, way hot outside so didn't stay long. Took a nap, did some housework, pondering watching a movie with the gang. Hope you're all having a fun Saturday!

Made it grocery shopping today. So proud of myself. The chicken was on sale and I got home (with both kids yay!) and got it in the crockpot in time to make chicken tacos for tonight.

I'm still crunching cheesy peanut butter cracker sandwiches into the carpet every time I walk but there is actual dinner tonight!

Now I'm at the pool with the kids. I really have to find something better to do withy Saturdays. Surely there is something free and child friendly (and grown up friendly!) around here somewhere...

Do you dislike being at the pool?

It was warmer today but not pool-warm. Sometimes I wish I had a million dollars so I could have a pool and a pool caretaker.

Okay - I intellectually understand the purpose of memorial services and group behavior and ceremony and ritual = but I just don't get what it is supposed to do internally. Like when you go someplace and everyone is crying and clutching each other- I am always like wtf? I don't know what other people are doing. Like lining up for the funerals of dead politicians or rock stars. Or religious stuff, or military or graduations.

I'm just kinda bored... And lonely... And, well, I feeeeel more doing kid stuff, but I can't show it. And I'm the only adult at the pool right now (and I'm not sure I want to talk to the kind of parents who let their little kids go to the community pool by themselves anyway)

JS- you need to find some girl companionship.. Even if you can't go out, but somebody to have glass of wine with you after the kids head to bed or something! Any local mom groups around where you are to get plugged into?

Catharsis. And group bonding.

As for the politicians, well that's just politics

Stopdog, I was thinking of when my good friend passed away. I went because it felt like a way to say good bye. It wasn't about getting the hugs, or exchanging condolences ... it was how I could say my final good bye. Other than that, I don't think I would make my way to another memorial or funeral service.

Oh, I know. I have crazy social anxiety though. I was supposed to go to one of the shelter's outreach groups yesterday but I chickened out
