You're too sweet for asking, Bill!

Today was the first day in over a week that I haven't had anything to do. I have been doing pretty well but, against all the advice of my MH nurse, I bought a bottle of gin tonight. I won't drink it all in one go, but I'm not looking forward to telling him I bought spirits. I'm a bit anxious at the moment and felt like I just needed something to relax. I've got lunch with my sister tomorrow so that's a healthy distraction for me

It is very sad that you are feeling so low. This is a rough patch but hold on and make way for better days.
It is true that ultimately the help has to come from your own heart, the t can only show you the way. Please try and take ONE baby step today--decide which small change you are going to make in your routine which will soothe your mind. One small initiative from your side. You can do it I am sure.Slowly move out of this trough.

Am I being preachy?I hope not.I see it with my hubs-no amount of counseling has a lasting effect. What he tries to better his condition is the only thing which works.

You will get over this mood.please be patient and hopeful.

Not having anything to do can be challenging. Still, i wonder if there are safer ways to address anxiety. (((((ThingWithFeathers)))))

I'm glad about lunch with your sister.

Lunch was good. My sister is the only one in my family who I am somewhat close to. As we talk more about the family we are learning from each other and becoming closer. It's nice to know there's something there, because my parents and brothers have done too much damage to me and my sister. I see t tomorrow. I am looking forward to seeing her, but nervous as always.

Hello. I want to say I've totally been where you are. Sometimes it's just meds and time and just hanging on. After I had a huge breakdown in 2013 I did not want to live for months and months. Only when I settled into the residential long term care place I'm in and made a friend and got connected with a staff member who did therapy with me for a long time did I start to get my life back. But I've also had a lot of set backs. I think it's just important that your therapist or psychiatrist or someone knows you're feeling this bad. Even if you don't agree or want to follow their suggestions they should know how bad you're feeling.

Hi Bill, it's nice of you to check in. I've had a challenging week - especially Friday, where I spent the day trying to finalise my police statement (not sure if you know about this, but if you're interested I can pm you more detail). I haven't signed it yet, but have finished getting everything out - just need to tidy it up. So that's been a big distraction. My anxiety us back but I'm doing okay on the depression front. I've got a quiet weekend, so will try to self care to avoid negative thoughts and behaviours.

How about you?

Hi Bill

I saw my MH nurse today - he really is a great support. I'm doing okay, v few sui an SH thoughts - which is a nice change. I've got something big coming up next week with the police, so I have to keep myself safe and stable. I hope I am able to take care and look after myself afterwards. The more stable I am now, the better I should handle this anxiety provoking thing.

Hope your weekend is a good one, Bill
