I'm in my room under the air conditioning. Weird weather adding to my melancholy today. Pass some of that chill this way please!

Mast, I will be very sorry to see you go, and am so sorry you have come to a point on PC where it no longer feels safe and comfortable to be here, but I understand the need to take care of yourself. I've left here myself for similar reasons. I hope you the best, and if down the road you decide to return I will eagerly look forward to hearing from you again. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for this!

Well, up early. I realized last night that my disappointment was stemming from really wishing my parents could have come. It's something I've had to work on in therapy. If I feel an emotion but I don't think it's "useful", I don't deal with it. Because my parents had a health issue that precluded travel, I thought "Well, I'm disappointed and they're disappointed but it doesn't do any good to dwell on it." As a result it leaked out into me being disappointed in all sorts of things.

Last night after another small thing, I realized why. I had a good cry (for me at least, I don't cry much).

I feel better this morning. The older boy and I are waiting for the toddler and husband to wake up I enlisted his assistance in brewing coffee and making a breakfast casserole to go with the donuts!

Merry Christmas, couch (to those that celebrate it).

I missed so much of the couch in my two busy days, that I don't have time to get caught up, so I shall just jump back in here.

So, truck went well yesterday. The other tech assigned to it and I got it sorted and put away in 2 and a half hours. There was 18 totes too. We were busy little worker bees.

I did the rest of my Christmas shopping at CVS after I was off. The cashier made fun of me for doing it at a drug store. My comment back was that I normally gave fragrance sets anyways and there was no way I was going to Walmart on Christmas Eve. I need to go back on my way to my torture chamber (dad's) to get a toy for his dogs. I got one for the resident dog and my mom's dog yesterday, but forgot about my dad's dogs. They need presents too. I believe in giving animals gifts for holidays and birthdays.

Went to my mom's last night...since she was home and going somewhere today. We exchanged gifts and er dog loved his toys. He thought all the presents were for him though. He kept trying to take everything. He just turned 1, so he is like a little kid.

I got some cleaning of the room done yesterday. Still have 1/3 left to go. Did a load of laundry yesterday as well...other load in now in the wash. Then I need to clean out my car. I can always do that tomorrow after CVS though. I am off at 6 tomorrow, since we close now.

Well, I need to get a shower and head to a CVS up here before they close for the day to get the doggy toys. Have a good day, couch. I shall return later.
Thanks for this!

Woke up late again, bonus teen just never gets angry (should I say "on the outside?") so I was 30 minutes late picking her up. We had to physically wake the little. She didn't seem convinced about all the magic that the oldest left around. Man, second graders are savvy! Then we all went back to sleep. How's that for a new tradition? Later my oldest is making chicken casserole (tastes more yummy than the name implies) and my sister and her husband will come with my 2 nephews. They're supposed to come at 1:00, but it will probably be far later than that.

Much better than a week worth of panic and anger and a traditional meal at her house. Don't tell her I said so!

I am enjoying a (large) glass of wine, thanks couchies for your recommendation of Gewurztraminer awhile back when I was asking for a step "up" from Moscato. I bought a bottle recently and opened it today, it's really good!

ETA: My 4 hours of work went really well this morning, I took only 14 calls during that time so it wasn't bad at all! And I made an extra $95 on top of the normal day's pay for the holiday. Gotta love it!

Funny how wine makes me sing better. It's not really that though. It's just that I don't care how I sound so I sing from my heart without trying to be quiet. And that makes me sing better. Hubby says so. ahahaha.

I think this wine must have a higher alcohol content than the Moscato does. <giggle>

I'm singing
of course.
Thanks for this!

Why do I allow myself to get so angry but won't allow myself to confront the person who made me so angry, so then make passive aggressive comments to everyone around me and be hateful and spiteful just because I can't say "hey, 18 year old kid who doesn't have a clue, stop trying to parent my kid while I'm in the bathroom!" Ugh.

My friend decided to do an all-pie Christmas dinner:

Main course: Cottage pie, spanakopita (spinach pie), mince pie
Dessert: Pumpkin pie, apple pie (streusel), peach pie (lattice)

I didn't eat much, but I think it was a totally brilliant idea.

I have enjoyed a glass of wine and Chinese food today. I wasn't up for cooking so we got take-out yesterday and put it in the fridge for today
