Swami?
Maybe she's channeling Tweety bird as well as Joan Crawford?

That would be quite a combination.

Where's ruh roh? We need an official translation.
Thanks for this!

you should lead a comedy improv class, datsa funny!

My mother didnt like when i called her gwammy in public cuz she didnt want strangers to think she was that much older than i. I called her gwammy after my nephew was born to make it easier for my nephew to use those kinds of words, which i was always teased by the relevant related adults for using. O course i used to pronounce it gwwwwwaaaaaammmmmmmeeeeee!!!! Its a term of endearment!!.
Thanks for this!

So I see from another thread that I now need to add "air" for "err" right after "phase" for "faze" in my list of spelling errors that annoy me enormously.

What is with all the phonetic misspellings? Are we living in an age that is losing the ability to write and transitioning back to an oral society?

Boundaries boundaries boundaries. I spoke to my T about an ex-T and just about everyting i said about ex-T was deemed a boundary violation by my T.

I speak Hiberno-English. I'll dangle anything I bloody well want I'll also avoid directly saying yes or no.

Spelling has not always been so codified. I don't think we're losing the ability to write though - it's more like written communication is far more accessible to more people than it has ever been previously. You'll have a spectrum of skill for one but also we have incredible diversity.

And then, of course, our brain has its own quirks.

The dangling preposition is a legitimate part of our Viking heritage. (Ask any Viking. Are you there, Mast?) Snooty grammarians only disparage it because it has no counterpart in Latin or Greek.

a wasted session. what is wrong with me .gy god i am such an idiot .i spent the whole session in complete panic mode do to the fact that she wanted me to go up the stairs in front of her.i spent the time unable to talk and then when i could croak out some of what is going on all i did was wine about how i hate that and it was different .she talked about how it was different and she didnt realize it and how she understands how me coming back after a break things needed to be the same as possible . i agree but again what i couldnt talk about is why i dont like her walking up the stairs behind me . it is a trust thing . i do this with everyone even my husband . i need to see them . the mother use to hide on me when i was really young and i would think she left me and i would panic like crazy . i got to the point that i always walked a few steps behind her so she couldnt do this. also when she was in a rage i would often run up stairs with her after me to hurt me. once she grabbed my leg and threw me back and i hit my head on a sewer pipe and split it open and got a big concussion . that was one of the times i had to stay in the hospital . i dont think she would believe me if i told her that

I think the therapist would believe you also, Granite.

My mother used to play a game where she would pretend to not know me - like I would walk into the house (around 4-5 yrs old) after playing outside, and she would ask who I was and why I was in her house. It was not the most fun game I ever played.

I also think your therapist would believe you. For one thing, it is an explanation that makes complete sense. It does not sound made up or fantastic.

If she does not know you do the same thing with others, you might start by trying to say that.
Thanks for this!

the mother would do stuff like that all the time and no it was not the least bit fun .it would send me into a panic . i dont understand how me completely out of control ,screaming and crying can be even a little funny. i remember when i got to that point the mother use to give it up and tell me im just stupid and she was only playing or teaching me a lesson

Is someone going to make a new couch, if I make it will have the phrase "rat's testicles" in the title. Do we want that? I don't think so!

Well, considering the only popular reference to 106 I know is in a 50-cent song, I don't think we want that either.

How about "the couch that could have had a much more offensive name"?
