I have been following another forum about therapy/therapists. I am boggled by what people attribute to them and what people put up with from those guys if reporting correctly. Reading about these things makes me more skeptical than I already am.

The first semester is finally officially over; it's been a doozie. I start with a new set of students on Tuesday. I'm so thankful to be in one of the few districts in our state that works on an accelerated block schedule on the high school level. Similar to college, students do a full course of work in one semester's time and start with new courses the second half of the year. We only have 4 periods in the day - 90 minute classes - rather than 6 or 7 45-minute classes everyday for the full year. That means I'm only dealing with 80ish students at a time rather than 160 or so, and students are not trying to juggle so many courses all at once; makes all the difference in the world. I might have to retire if and when they move back to a 7 period day. I did it for years, but I dread the thought of going back to it.

So I have a nice 3-day weekend with no grading to do. I plan to relax. I think we're going to take in a movie tomorrow and that may be about it. Church on Sunday and chorus Monday night, but otherwise I plan to pretty much vegetate.

Time to head back to bed; my dog woke me up wanting to go out but now I think I'm ready to sleep again.

I am watching a parks and recreation marathon because I can't sleep.

SD, I hope you gt some quality sleep after the parks and recreation marathon, whatever that is I am assuming it programmes about National Parks on TV.

I am trying a new bedtime routine as I am trying to cut down on the amount of seroquel I take. Last night I did not sleep well as I basically just went to bed so tonight I am trying a warm bath and a warm drink to see how that goes.

I don't know if its menopause or not but my body odour has changed dramatically. I smell kind of musty like an old cupboard.

Not really. I took oxazepam (a benzo) again - that calms me down to the point I can wear clothes (because otherwise they feel constricting, like they're choking me) but I'm still experiencing them hurting me and touching me and holding me down. And I hear my own screams. I hate hearing my own screams.

But it's gotta stop some time, right? I hope so, at least.

I think some infections can cause that- you might want to talk to your doctor just in case.

I am a natural night owl and the long breaks between semesters always screws me up and combined with my young dog it is messing with my amount of sleep- During the breaks, my pattern gets such that I am awake most of the night but can sleep during the day. So now, when I have to function in the daytime to really do stuff - it has an adjustment period of getting back to a semi- usual night sleep day awake schedule

Hey couch. Heading out to get my hair cut, yay, I think the last time I got it cut was maybe in early August? I haven't curled it all week cuz the last time I did the curls fell out really quickly, it's just too long and my hair's too thick and heavy. I still can't believe how fast the week went again. It was just Monday morning, I swear, and then boom it was time to go home on Friday! I hope next week goes that way too. Off to Great Clips... if it turns out well maybe I'll share a pic....

Haircut is just a haircut. Much more fun to share a pic of the kitten. She was attacking the cat tree. She loves to stand on her back legs and attack things. She is already getting bigger!! haha

Im struggling right now. Grandma went into the hospital thursday night. She was dehydrated. She now has to have oxygen because her oxygen levels drop too low without. She wont eat or drink life sustaining amounts. And she has had bronchitis for 3 weeks with no real upswing. Fearing the worst. Been crying on and off the last couple days.

You're right. It will stop. You just gotta get through it, and that's rough

I'm doing laundry today, and getting ready to start a new crochet afghan, a 12 pointed star pattern. Time to dive into my yarn stash and pick out some colors that match.... I have to work half a day tomorrow morning, and Sundays are pretty slow days, so I should be able to crochet between calls.

Sending hugs to those who want them.

I used to have long hair when I was a kid and I wore it in braids a lot. It's just so dang thick, though, that I rarely let it get past my shoulders anymore! The longest it's been in a long time was a couple years ago and as you see, it poofs out crazy more than it gets long! And I got headaches too with it this long just from the weight of it, especially when in a ponytail.

The gal who cut my hair this morning was so kind, I had mentioned that I don't mind my gray hair so much because it's mostly in the back and I don't see it, she said "but look at it, it's blended in and looks like silver highlights!" Yeah, she knows how to make sure she gets a tip.
