Welcome, Bolair. I grew up in the south - we loved it when the weather man said "maybe, quite possibly, perhaps not at all snow" because we were guaranteed at least 2 snow days.

I don't know how many alarm clocks I have used/own/tried I still somehow turn them all off without knowing. I do like the Alarm Clock Xtreme App (android) makes you do math before it stops blaring at you.

Off to T.... after yesterday I don't want to ever go back. Yet, I want to live there at the same time. I just want to be 'fixed' already

Hi Bolair!

Stopdog has a very dry sense of humour which is great fun when you get used to it. But she does not like to be hugged.

I wish more people IRL had SD's sense of humor. Actually, in addition to that, I wish more people had a sense of humor IRL.

(IRL = In Real Life, NOT referring to anyone on PC.)

Can you all tell I'm having a grumpy time of it lately IRL?

So I had a thing today and it was unusual to the point that I called a nurse to verify I'd been given the proper dose.

I kept trying to explain to the nurses that things were different. Whoever did the injection today, it left me sore.

Now I feel frustrated. I feel frustrated because I feel like I bothered the nurses (I had to press the call button twice in the hour to get someone and I felt summarily dismissed about my concerns).

I don't think I was acting inappropriately or making outlandish requests - the first time it was to verify I'd been given the right dose and med. The second time it was to ask if I could be discharged early (by about twenty minutes). I know they were busy. Still, again, I was not rude.

I hate being made to feel like a bother. Plus I didn't recognize any of these nurses.

This wouldn't be so bad if my husband could go with me. But I have to try to advocate for myself while under the influence of this medication and that's harder than it looks even if it's not affecting me strongly (I wish I'd remembered the nurse's name who gave me the injection so I can request someone else do it next time - she did some stupid "slow push" with the needle - it took her like FOREVER to inject it - I was thinking "Hey lady, could you just effing do it already?").

UL I thought about it for all of 5 minutes. The small fortune to have one built would not be attainable in this lifetime. I console myself with a space heater that has a "fake" fire on top.

So... here is a random thought and some exciting news!

1.) I work in a rural school system in the south, and it's supposed to snow tomorrow! Translation: We should get a snow day or two, maybe even 3!

2.) Overslept this morning because my phone somehow died overnight (despite a 90% charge). However, I'm notorious for hitting snooze about 10 times as well. Conclusion: I need a regular plug-in alarm clock that makes me get out of bed and recite the pledge of allegiance, sing the Star Spangled Banner, and say the alphabet backwards before it stops blaring.
I need an alarm clock like that too. I hit snooze for a good 30 minutes before I finally turn the thing off and force myself out of bed.

Welcome to the couch! And don't worry, none of us know what we're doing either.
Thanks for this!

We had a cardboard red brick one when i was growing up that santa came down in the basement rec room. I kinda believed it

I kinda yelled at my t today. He said SOME people might think a t didnt care if a t let them just cancel appointments. I said, hey, it was below zero degrees. And who are some people? Not us - i know you care - youre like a freakin Roomba. That was my second zinger today. I told him that i didnt want to go to this upcoming party - i said the last one was so awful, i had more fun at my mother's funeral. He was like, well... i was like, yeah only i didnt even mean it like that. Anyway, thats the real problem - what do you do with people after you let them in? We hermits havent been trained for that.

My family had the same red brick cardboard fireplace till we moved to a house with a real fireplace. I totally believed in the cardboard version. (Also, squirrels did not get stuck in it and die and stink up the drawing room like they did in the real fireplace.)

I made an interesting observation of myself this evening. H and I had gone to buy cat litter and in the store he asked if I had the store rewards card and I said no, did we get one? And he said in a snotty tone "Yes we did and I know you have it." And I told him to please not speak so me in such a condescending tone. But the observation I made, was that I was speaking in the same sort of tone back at him. So I gave him a big goofy grin after I realized how I sounded. And he said "I didn't know I sounded that way." And we went along with our evening, I gave the checkout person our phone number and we got the discount and all is well.

Self-awareness is a powerful thing. Maybe next time I'll be aware a little sooner and respond with a tone of self-respect instead..... even still, things have definitely been better in my marriage all the way around for the last couple of weeks.

Yeah i did feel bad about calling t a roomba. But we did talk it out, about how i felt bullied and the transference involved, and then we hugged it out when i left. <== i need an SD-Trigger option for content like that!

I emailed t asking about what happened to my shaman, because t doesn't want to meet until after I do biofeedback (which is wonderful). She said hopefully by the end of the week the shaman will be able to do something. She also asked how I was and I wrote about my mom being flaky and of course my mom called me and we talked for like 20 mins. Also we're going out on Thursday if the roads are clear. We're supposed to get some snow tomorrow.

Thanks for the warm welcome and helpful tips! I've taken notes and will do my best to remember!

Update on my exciting news: SNOW DAY is confirmed! The funny thing is that not one single flake of snow has fallen. In our defense, almost every single county in our whole region of the state has already closed school too.

As for the alarm clock... I think I'm going to try out that app where I have to do some math. That should tick me off enough to raise my blood pressure too much to go right back to sleep.

Now... what to do for my snow day tomorrow. I'm thinking pajamas, pancakes, and a Netflix binge of some sort.

See Artie not wanting to go to work.
See Artie stomp her feet in petulant teenager mode.
See Artie put on her shoes and drag herself out the door anyway.

Have a good day, couch!!
