I just took the oldest two girls to see a movie (bonus teen is 20 today) and now the little and I have to pick them up at 10. They don't think about the little being awake that far past bedtime, but all I can think about is the fight I'm going to have in the morning. Ah, well. For a special occasion I made an exception. Good night couch!

Hugs if you want them. I almost did once. But since I'm not in touch with my anger I just grabbed my keys and walked out when our time was up without saying goodbye or anything. Not quite the same effect.
Hope it gets better.

Thanks for listening. I'm really very sorry if anyone is triggered by this!!

So, a second surgeon convinced me that I should not mess around with a biopsy...it would make sense to just let them do surgery to remove the offending part. He said some biopsies come back false negative or false positive.

Put a call into my ENT...waiting to hear back if she would prefer to do the surgery, still.

Haven't told the family anything about anything yet.

Had a horrible asthma attack on the way to work. Barely made it from public transportation stop to the office. My boss took one look at me and dropped me off at the nearest urgent care. My blood pressure was through the roof due to panicking at not being able to breathe. After urgent care doc patched me up I saw my regular PCP. She said no work until I am able to climb steps (since my office is up two flights of stairs). This means I have to try and deal with working from home tomorrow while husband is home. This is usually a fail.

Yikes Polibeth, I hope you're feeling better now!! Something like that happened to me one summer when I was working at girl scout camp, not my favorite camp but a different one. I had a bad asthma attack in the middle of the night and the director wouldn't unlock the gate for me to leave and just told me to relax and I laid in bed that whole night just trying to breath and not panic. It is a horrible feeling.

I am so sorry NP!! Suicide by cop unfortunately seems common-- you would think cops would have some kind of plan or technique for this kind of thing (Although I can understand the need for everyone to be safe, just wish cops were better with the mentally ill)

Yeah - me too growly - h and I were working on taxes this evening until we both pretty much threw our hands up in the air and said "we'll do it this weekend".

eta: this was in response to the tax software comment.

I once dreamed that sparky was a vet that put down a sick box of puppies I brought to him. It was a hard dream to glean meaning from in any way

Thanks Art. That sounds horrible. I am really fortunate, the President of our company called me and told me to take as much time as I need/see whatever specialists can help. Not being able to breathe is really a panicky feeling.

Sorry to bombard the couch--just catching up on various threads!!

Work was so strange my first day back. Only 4 people outside my immediate team asked how I was doing. My boss' boss and the vp didn't even come by and pretend to give a carp for 3 minutes which they sometimes do if someone is out sick and returns. I almost died and don't get a word.

Am I really that un-liked at work? I'm feeling like every minute at this job is unhealthy for me on so many levels.

My boss was pretty good but she filled me in on all the awful stuff that happened while I was out . Mostly other people undermining our department and taking credit for all we do. We are a very profitable little team yet everyone says "yea! now is the time to outsource design:" WTF

Wouldn't it be a metaphor for therapy? (I'm being serious. Excluding dream content in case it upsets anyone.)

I have been trying to get on the couch all day. The ex isn't stepping up to bat so I have been running all around town ferrying kids places. I should be safe now.

I wondered what kind of metaphor that could be! I remember feeling badly that the pups had to be put down, hoping that there had to be another way. In the dream Sparky was his overly eager and bombastically friendly self which seemed incongruous with euthanizing puppies
Thanks for this!

I would love to do it, but it would have to quick. Unfortunately with my physical disablity by the time i got my legs into position, found my walking stick. etc the session would be nearly over so I may as well sit it out.
Also the more angry I am the less my body will co-operate. *sigh*

No He is himself but the dreams are always about alein invasions and the aliens look a lot like us but with differences he fits a partial description of an alien and the dream ends with me trying to descide whether I should shoot him or not.

I agree with comment about the vet dream being an analogy of therapy.

I've had alien dreams like you describe--kind of like Invasion of the body snatchers/who to trust and who not to.

The puppies would represent parts of you that need healing. Parts that are dear or integral to you that you want to protect - that's why they're cute puppies. But some parts/memories/feelings/behaviors may just need to go, sad to say, and we have to recognize there is no other way.

I actually think therapist as vet is not a bad analogy. Animals can communicate but can not verbalize their pain in words; so too clients at times. Therapists are animal whisperers!

I got compared to an armadillo once. And all I could think was, "you just called me roadkill."
