What it would be good for is my internal resume, if an actual position comes available for something like this. I am torn on whether I should go for it or not. I think I probably will, because I can always ask if I get an interview if there is a potential for it becoming an actual higher-paying position in the future... I don't know. I'm torn.... maybe I'll see if I can meet with my old supervisor about it I bet he'll have some good advice for me!

Have a good day/night couchies!!
Give it a go. You might be happier, even if you aren't any richer.

I am generally in favour of other people having and expressing opinions.

A facebook friend of mine posted a question today in her FB feed, roughly "What is the opinion you have that most often tends to provoke other people?" And I thought (but did not answer) "How on earth would I know?"
Thanks for this!

If I believed the woman believed even a quarter of the crap she says, I would be horrified.
Authenticity is so important. Once you can fake that, you can do anything you want.

I would prefer not to.
The only Melville I could slog through was Bartleby the Scrivener. And, if not for the impressive passive aggressiveness of Bartleby, even that would have been tough going.
I skimmed Moby D and could not for the life of me figure out what the big deal was. Ahab just needed to drink some calming chamomile tea and get a grip (or to follow group wisdom here - talk to his therapist about how the whale made him feel). Melville needed an editor.

I know, I know! "You're wrong." Altho this probably says more about the opiner. Who in this case hates being wrong and projects that onto other people. Kim Kardashian might say, her telling other people they are not photogenic. But I would be surprised if this were indeed the impetus of this question.

I don't understand all of that (had to look up Kim Kardashian and still don't quite get the reference...)

It was an interesting question which has got a lot of good responses, as a matter of fact.

Yes, but did you know the end of Moby D is based on a real life event - the ramming and sinking by a huge sperm whale of the whaler Essex in mid-Pacific? Eight men survived, largely by homophagy (I'm using that word in case anyone finds the alternative upsetting).

Now I really have to read Moby D. Wanna do it together, unaluna? Think of how we could bore the rest of the Couch!
Thanks for this!

Last session the last thing I remember was talking about setting limits and T making noises about feeling uncomfortable with the whole thing. We do this texting thing every now and again until T lets it get out of hand. (He said he feels rude ignoring some texts I said it was ok.) But I actually realised this time I may have been a pain in the arse. Anywayy it comes down to I feel like he has something that I want but I just can't figure out what it is, so I try different things. The emailing was the same.

But if the something I want from my T is something I can't get from him I'd rather know and not want to have it. I don't think I made any kind of sense there.

Yeah...that is an interesting question on the part of your friend. Maybe if one was a controversial person who likes to spout opinions no matter what, they might have a sense on which type of opinion provokes people more? Either way if I was asked that I'd be like "uhhh...i have no idea."
Thanks for this!

So as i had mentioned earlier my T cancelled this week n said he will lwt me know if there is cancelation later in week he ll let me know. Seems like it wont happen. Personally i think he should have carved out time for me. As i had appt booked in advance and he said oh that time was to be blocked off. It was not my fault. Anyhow. Just very upset with him. ..as he didnt care to schedule me this week knowing whats going on in my life. I am having to deal with everything on my own with no support. O m going ahead and making decisions and following through...but am scared it may backfire. I dont know how to do this...but i have to find a way. I really wish T would have cared enough to check in. But it feels like its nothing to him...what i talk about is meaningless. .n small. Like i dont care if u get thru this or not.. its not a big deal to me.
I m about to deal with one of the problems right now..in few mins. M very nervous. N mad at T.
