Granite, she is probably under some contractual agreement not to solicit clients away from the clinic into private practice. It isn't about you. It's about the clinic.

ETA: Had a therapist that ended up in that position years back. When he started working for a particular clinic, the contractual agreement was that he would see all of his clients at that clinic and none outside the clinic. It was a bit of a pain in the rear because I had to travel longer to see him under those circumstances, but that was his contract. It wasn't about me. It was the price of doing business with that particular clinic.

You might wonder why she stays with that clinic with all its rules. It is probably, again, a financial decision. Perhaps her own medical coverage is better this way and that is important to her. Perhaps they provide benefits that she couldn't afford for herself in private practice. Could be many reasons. We would like to think they do it only out of the goodness of their hearts, but they live the same reality we do. They have to make job decisions that make sense to their personal lives/needs.

She's working on getting you into her private practice. Bear with her while this transition happens. She's probably having to walk a few tightropes and jump through some hoops business-wise to get things in line. As messy as it feels on your end, it is probably even messier on her end but it will get there. In the meantime, breathe deeply and remember this is about her business requirements and not about you.

Pat Summitt was someone I really admired. I am relieved that her suffering has ended but sad her life was cut so short and by such a terrible disease.

Alzheimer's is a truly horrible disease. One of my aunts had it - it was an awful thing to watch

I feel like I did nothing but dream about worrying last night. I feel like I got no sleep at all, kept waking up in a panic. I have no idea what I was actually dreaming about, just that I was worried about it... Argh.

I used to work in dementia therapy. The best job I ever had. I met some truly wonderful people afflicted by such a devastating illness. I've not heard of Pat Summitt, but always sad to hear of another family affected by the cruelest of diseases.

She was the winningest college basketball coach ever, which is saying something.

I am sorry too. I hope the scandal with her son didn't make her last months worse.
Thanks for this!

I doubt she even knew about her son's difficulties from the way her diseased had progressed.

Evening, couch.

Interview sucked. It was more than likely a courtesy interview. 10 minutes in and out, they didn't write a thing down, handed my resume back to me at the end. They more than likely had someone they wanted to hire and were just interviewing me as one of at least 5 people the district requires they interview for each position. Oh well, it still gave me interviewing practice.

Came home from interview and cooked. Made turkey tetrazzini, green bean casserole, and red potatoes. Also took a fruit tray and juice. My housemates said this is the best meal I have made yet. Lol...they say that everytime. They are not rude, so I know they would never say it tasted horrible, but I guess if they didn't like it they could say nothing, so them saying they like it means they really do. I dunno.

No plans tomorrow. I guess I could start my discussion posts for my masters class. I already completed the assignment in week 3 and submitted it, so I am free from doing that this week. Just have to make a post at least 3 days and at least 8 total posts. Not too bad...easy week for me.

Thursday, I see my pdoc. It'll only be a day over 3 weeks (instead of 4 weeks), but he is on vacation next week, so we couldn't do 4 weeks...it had to be 3 or 5, I would have preferred 5, but the receptionist said she had to get his approval for that and he said it had to be three if it couldn't be four. I guess it's not dangerous to get the shot early...at least I hope it isn't.

I have a vague recollection of a story maybe 20 years ago - some high school had Sacagawea as their mascot, and their female teams were the Lady Sacagaweas...kinda redundant.

Random question:

Does anyone know anything about Beanie Babies? My mother in law gave me a box of them that she had collected for me. Couch 117: Come On In and Set-tee A While. She made a comment that they were collectibles and they were worth money. ?

Didn't want to offend her so I accepted them, with an excited smile. Couch 117: Come On In and Set-tee A While

What do I do with these?? Are they really collectible and worth money? I don't do the collectibles "thing"
