Good news today. Dad sound like his old self today. He said about 10PM or so last night, all of the sudden he just felt better. What we think may have happened is that when he went into the ER the other night, they gave him morphine for the pain he was having (intravenously I think). It was about 24 hours later that he suddenly felt better: very possible his weakness yesterday was a bad reaction to morphine. But he says he's steady on his feet today. His voice sounds normal. He sounds very alert. Mom is HUGELY relieved; I think this week has really scared her. They've been together since 1951 and are still so very much in love. I think we are all relieved. I know my sons perked up today with the good news.
Thanks for this!

That is great news. Glad to hear he is feeling so much better.

If I bang my head on the point of the very pointy light fixture in the dining area one more time...I'm pretty sure my skull is dented in at least five places.

Got some great news from my son's allergist appointment today.. He tested negative to egg allergy and peanut allergy. We did an oral egg challenge and passed with flying colors, next week is the peanut challenge. For all goes well we will be officially food allergy free house!! Soooooo exciting! He still has a bee allergy so we will still always need an Epi pen, but to not have to be so paranoid with food is such a burden lifted. I just had to share with somebody!

I hope the peanut thing goes well. I am sure it is very stressful to worry about what a small child might eat.

I'm sorry Crocus. I know the pain of rejection like that from someone who supposedly cares about you. Just know that it mostly about THEM and what they can or can't handle or deal with or whatever...its your friend's issue, NOT YOURS.

I'm sorry too

My best friend of 14 years abandoned me. I'll never understand what happened and they have not spoken to me since.

I feel for you. Its awful
But remember its not you. People create their own f'ed up realities

What can we do that would be most helpful?

Yes, is there anything we can do that would be helpful to you? Losing people we care about is always the hardest, especially when we think it's our fault

Reason #4,399 I'm glad I'm short. Hope you don't have a permanent dent....

Caught up on couch. Caught up on PC. The cat I've had since I was 16 is passing away tonight. She lives with my parents because my spouse is highly allergic. Animals shouldn't be allowed to leave us. T wants to see me again tomorrow morning. Sigh. Apparently I'm not in a good place, she did say it was a good thing I'm still breathing. I told her I disagree.

I'm average height - the cussed light is just really low because there should be a table under it. If I keep on unpacking, I might be able to find a carabiner to hook it up.

Someone named Elgar is helping me set up my wireless internet via chat.

I'm tempted to ask if he's named for the composer.

I have 13 ft ceilings so no one gets hit the head by light fittings. Though at the moment one of the little iridescent blue and yellow sunbirds has got its self lost again and occasionally I nearly get struck in the head by 3inch living bullet. Dangers of living in the tropics.

I have been smart homing my home.
I am stymied by the nest thermostat and am uncertain if it is me or that it won't work with my wiring.

I just got an Amazon Echo myself. If Elgar ever manages to fix my wireless, I'll start setting it up.

I am meeting with a potential new therapist next Saturday. Really nervous. Not many choices in the area so I hope he is a viable option.

The echo is fun I think - and controls almost all my lights now and a couple of plugs. I have even been giving it as presents.

I read that the first time as "I have even been giving it presents" and then decided I better re-read it

That made me smile, the carabiner part - A long time ago I used to babysit a girl named Kara and at the time, I had been doing ropes courses with Girl Scouts and we used those - so I nicknamed her "Kara-biner" and she hated it - she could be a little hot-head sometimes, she would stomp into her room and slam her door when I'd call her that. She was a sweet kid though generally. Thanks for the memories!

I read it like that, too, but I admit I found nothing strange about it

I just made a fresh pot of coffee - Scandinavian style, so you people might want to add some water *ducks quickly*
