So I went in to talk with my T and it turned out she was actually thinking it was time as well. I am thinking about it a lot today so I kind of just wanted to tell someone because I haven't spoke about it to anyone online or anyone who knows me off the forum in my life. Anyway, this is the first day it really started to sink in that I no longer have that "safety net" under me and now it's time for me to navigate this thing called life without being under someone's wing. I am sure it will be hard but I am a 36 year old woman and it's time to pull up the big girl panties and move on. Be back soon. Again, sorry I just barged in to say it but I had to tell someone-anyone willing to listen. I have to go to work for a bit-see you soon couch. Thanks.

(((Hugs))) thanks for sharing.. I know it's got to be hard.

I feel like pop tarts should have the same warning label on them that cigarettes have. I know i would like them like too much. They came into being like right after i was over being a kid.

See i dont even eat chocolate chip cookies anymore - to me they are just a chocolate delivery system. I skip the middleman and go straight for the cocoa. What are you looking for in pop tarts? Have you tried babka? Chocolate or cinnamon babka. Yummmmmm. Flaky. Why i had to join weight watchers! They MUST have yiddish bakeries in texas - right? If sd makes babka, i will eat my hat!

It's a Polish pastry. I had a great-aunt who gave us scads of babka (Jewish babka, technically, it wasn't in cake shape and it was twisted) every Christmas. My mother was the only one who liked it.

SD wouldn't make it because it doesn't involve smoking products like cheese or meat?
Thanks for this!

....or blowtorches. i get it now!

I'm going to look up some recipes just for grins. My german grandmother made fruitcakes every christmas. they were SO good, very very different from the canned ones people re-re-re-re-gift.

I'm working on a scarf for the shelter drive but having lived much more north than Dallas I can't imagine anyone ever needing a scarf or hat here. But our leader started the drive and I need the practice.

I am not that much of a baker of desserts. I make bread (and crumpets and english muffins and bagels (a giant pain in the *** with the boiling and broiling and baking) and scones) but that is about it for baking. Every so often I make a pound cake or date cake (the pudding part of sticky toffee pudding).

Trader Joe has a chocolate babka that people either love or hate. I have not tried it as I am not a huge chocolate consumer.

How do the holes get in the crumpets?

i love the bagel-making process. yes, time consuming, but it's fun to me. and i simply love the results. i've always wanted to make english muffins, I tried one recipe and it was a colossal failure.
Thanks for this!

This is my favorite english muffin recipe. It may be more like crumpets-but they are great. I sometimes make them with cinnamon and raisins or blueberries. They are better if you use rings in my opinion.
