I was using advantage II on schedule and haven't had a problem for years. But, like Frontline plus, the fleas became immune to it. Right now my dog has a Seresto flea collar. It is supposed to kill and repel fleas. The groomer found three immature fleas on her but didn't say if they were alive or dead. The foggers were supposed to kill and interrupt the life cycle.

I can't afford new furniture or carpet but I can sure get rid of boxes of Knick knacks, etc.

We have already spent $270. But if revolution works, I'll spend money on the vet and buy a product that works.

The grassy area we use is in the suburbs, but every other dog, possum, raccoon, squirrel, etc. walks on it, too.

It wouldn't be a shock if we had a bunny or kitty family in the crawl space...it's happened before. But, you're right, the fleas would stay with them.

It looks like a professional will have to be called.

How long do you have to stay out of the home if the professional treats it?

Thank you for your help. I'm glad it's not my fault.

It's really not your fault! The problem with Frontline and the others that are sold OTC is that they are both more toxic to the pet and less effective on the fleas--maybe because the products aren't continually developed so the fleas do become immune. There was also an issue a few years ago with counterfeit products showing up on the market, and I'm not sure that was solved. Revolution is made by Pfizer and continually "tweaked"; my animals have been on it for over 10 years, both cats and dogs, and never had a bad reaction, nor a renewed flea problem. It costs about $50 for a 3 month supply. Varies a bit depending upon whether it's for cat or dog (not interchangeable) and size of animal. My vet charges $20 a month, but they undercharge on so many services that I figure they deserve a bit of profit on the sale.

The pest people told me that they can only treat areas they can get to directly which is why the emptier the better. They didn't use bombs; I think they used handheld sprayers so they could really get into all the nooks and crannies (my house has plenty!) I don't remember how long before I could move in but it wasn't long. I don't know what they do special with furniture and carpets, but I imagine they have a way of tenting them for treatment. I don't think fleas penetrate upholstery except through open spaces, like a torn lining. They get into the seams, but that's reachable.

Cardboard boxes are a magnet for fleas laying eggs, though.

I don't have a problem in my yard, but my friends who live a couple of miles away have periodically had fleas in the grass problems. It really depends on seasonal weather and the terrain; they also get a lot of deer on their land that I don't have.

But I would really talk with your vet about options, especially as your pets have been exposed to a variety of flea treatments. They can recommend the proper transition schedule that will work and be safe for them. They have a couple of other options not available to groomers that can be given as a one time eradicator before starting a monthly schedule, too. There's hope!
Thanks for this!

Morning couch! How is everyone today? Feeling a little lightheaded and experiencing some floaters in my vision but I'm otherwise good.
Thanks for this!

Have fun with it. I get massages from time to time and I am not a generally touchy person at all.

Thank you! He is a great kid and I am thankful for that. Even with all the mistakes we and especially I made, we still managed to do pretty good. He's in college, working part time, making a budget every week that he's sticking to, has over $1,000 in savings already, I'm very very proud of him.

Just got home from my massage. It was better than I feared. I did get kinda emotional at one point. But I guess they expect that with all the kleenex boxes around. Heh. I'm going to go again sometime. I'm feeling a bit wiped out right now though, so am going to take a nap!

I completely zoned out in the middle of a store this afternoon, and when I "came to," people were asking me if I was OK. Embarassing.

I think my nap wasn't long enough. I'm glad t warned me that I might want to have the next day off work after my massage. I'm not getting anything done today. Still feeling a bit in a fog from the emotional release.

Hey thanks for asking, CE. They are both amazingly cool. Both back at college and doing well as the semester starts. My son took the mcat recently and we are waiting on results.

How is your daughter doing? I always wonder about how your wife is doing after her surgery, if you care to share.

Update- last night, rough. better day today. Actually productive. Right now, few bites!

I took my neighbor a few Barbeque utensils, etc., that I'll never use. Both of us happy about it. He's so nice!

He said he hasn't noticed animals scurrying under my mobile home skirting. I turned to look and noticed part of a side of my house buckled in! Greater damage than loose skirting. I never knew this! I rarely get to that side of the house.

Neighbor says the frequent rain has washed dirt and gravel downhill away from my house!! Oh My! He says that management should be responsible for adding dirt and gravel- shoring my house back up! They own the land, I pay lot rent. No wonder things are a mess. I need to get this taken care before I call the exterminator..
Omgosh, maybe I should get rid of more things just in case I have to move.

Thankfully, brother comes Wednesday. He's a better business person than I. If management should do it, brother will tactfully but firmly see it is done.

Oh my lord, I reall feel old today..or disabled...or confus d and overwhelmed or something.

I wil continue to clean and discard on the inside. Wish I could be productive more hours of the day. Maybe brother won't be mad at me after all. I really hope so. Sigh.

I'm sorry I go on and on about this. It's just central to my life right now.
I can't even begin to address my communication issues with DD (or anything else) until my health and home are settled...
Sorry, again.

Good thing is, I haven't contacted T today. Poor lady deserves her holiday.

Surgery was a long time ago now. She's lost weight and kept it off.

Daughter is learning to drive.

I'm feeling very with it - I just ordered something to be delivered to an Amazon locker.

And speaking of with it, I'm planning to set up the Echo tomorrow. I wonder what Alexa would do if I played "The Downeaster Alexa"?
Thanks for this!

H got me an Echo for my birthday but as they're not available in the UK there's quite a few hoops you have to jump through to get it to work. No success yet
