Funny thing is I tried using an icing bag to fill the molds but this dough is too thick and I ended up using a small spatula. They end up having a rough rustic appearance because of the pumpkin purée

The homemade tiny critter traps are working, somewhat. I'll know more in the morning.

Its just sugarfree hershey miniatures "special dark". I just wanted something that i could not overeat (the sugar alcohols would give ya the runs), but that were chocolate enough. Ive had to learn to eat regular food first. No eating treat type food when youre actually hungry.

It's all good. And fair comment.

It's always difficult to organise a movement that is justly suspicious of authority. George Washington had the same problem.

(And rightly so: anyone who supported George in the belief that he would end slavery or improve the status of women would have been bitterly disappointed.)

Hi couch,

I had a terrible day at work with a server network port or the network cable itself unexpectedly failing despite testing fine the previous working day.

This resulted in some biggggshot people being very upset due to the multi party video conference starting late as we pulled out the portable video conference stuff.

Then one overseas participant had issues which delayed things further.

I had a room full of pissed off bigshots.

I nearly had a panic attack, my hands were shaking and I tripped over my words as my colleague tried to troubleshoot things for the overseas dude with issues.

I'm scared the bigshots in my org who got affected will roast my colleague and me.

Bad enough that the main bigshot had to apologise to several lawyers present for the video conference.

ETA: I hate IT sometimes. I'm telling myself today is a win if I don't self-harm to punish myself for anxiety.

I know it's no ones fault the network issue happened, especially as we'd JUST tested.

But these bigshots have blamed us for things completely out of our control - like one overseas bigshot speaking too close to his microphone, causing static bursts. Or temporary degradation of video stream, even we can't do a dang thing about the internet connection in between entire bloody countries.

They know nothing and won't listen. Everything is always IT's fault. If we're so useless like they keep blaming us, why don't these dang people try running a super complex enterprise level video conferencing setup that spans more than 50 rooms...

I hate my job.

Sorry. I can't whinge IRL.

I used to work in IT myself. Sometimes stuff goes horribly wrong, doesn't matter how much we test. I remember how we once messed up some privilege/accessibility stuff horribly. Basically everyone was able to see what some (protected) products are made of. We tested this multiple times for obviouse reasons, but we always tested from within a certain network... not from wothout.
Anyway: What i intended to say is: stuff goes wrong. You'll probably have an angry boss for a while, but don't blame youself too much. Everyone should know that this things can fail, your boss is a fool if he doesn't.

Oh god, privilege stuff stinks. Had one recently for our network drives. We're STILL using network drives for highly confidential stuff and the users expect super fine granular access level control like on bloody Sharepoint...when we're on network drives with THOUSANDS of folders. There was a mistake and people yelled.

Did people forget the incident you mentioned? I'm worried my mistakes will brand me, even if they weren't really my mistakes. The culture at my workplace has had external consultants calling it "unforgiving".

I hope my boss defends my team. Because this whole video conference thing is only a few months old, definitely never had the network failing. Like we prepared for stuff like the physical servers dying and we can swap servers in ten minutes, but never expected the network.

Urgs. Sounds like lots of fun.

Yeah, they forgot about it. There was some: "what did we do wrong?","what do we have to change" stuff and we were under more supervision for a while.

You know, in my country we always say: "consultants are consultants because they are too stupid to do anything else" (sorry if anyone on the couch is a consultant... not to be taken personally)

Knowing my workplace, I'm going to have to write an email report on how we'll prevent the same issue from happening again. Hopefully my preemptive draft for my senior colleague to amend and send will be enough.

Hahaha, I like that saying!!

Caught up on the couch and all I can think is, "dark chocolate is gross". lol

10 year anniversary was this weekend, it was nice. Went to a fancy dinner and then did nothing all weekend, except ESO and cuddle with the dogs.

I have that stupid stomach thing going around and feel like poo but am at work anyway doing what I do.

I am not a dark chocolate fan either. I am not a giant chocolate person in general. It is okay, but not something I am generally going to choose to eat. Before menopause, I always knew when my period was about to start because it was the one time of month I would often specifically want chocolate.
