No - it is not a contest about love or anything like that. I did not explain it well.

That was just an example of what I was trying to get across - I did not explain it correctly.

I didn't mean to give offence. But "girl thing" is still a thing. Isn't it?

Umm...yeah, characterizing it as 'girl thing' is well...unfortunate.
However, in my limited -- totally anecdotal -- experience, I have found gay men to be much more laissez-faire when it comes to accepting men who don't self-identify as gay but well, are rather so in their behaviors. Among women though, it's felt like there's a lot less acceptance of the same (maybe this is changing with younger folk and as women are coming out at much younger ages). And, I'll totally put myself in this category as well -- I won't ever date (or even do anything much more casual with) a woman who's not well out of the closet. On the other hand, my gay male friends seem to have little issue with that. I do think there are a lot of reasons for the differences that go well beyond just a stereotype that women are more uptight about these things but I kinda suspect there are differences between gays and lesbians (again, for good reason, I'm sure). |

Today in T we talked about feeling our emotions well and feeling well/good. T says its better to feel emotions well and using drugs alcohol and dissociation to feel good is not good. I defined the difference between living and existing in relation to this. Living=feeling emotions and existing = being alive waiting to die. This is what I have been struggling with for a month and T said he has been waiting along time for this conversation. I might give this living thing a chance.
I know I posted in the session today thread but I wanted to share my breakthrough with you guys. |

I have not experienced this, but I do understand what you mean. Is this a general question you feel all around in your life, or to only certain experiences? Or if you don't want to answer...that is cool too.

There is a difference between lesbians and gay men in that regard. In UK medicine, there is a specific category for the latter, MSM = Men who have sex with Men, I.e. Do not identify as gay and may indeed be married.

Women do it also. For me, lesbian is much more than the physical act.

It's been a music weekend. 7 hours rehearsal Brahms yesterday. We're in good shape to ready for performance the first week in October. Such a glorious and beautiful work. (They fed us well, too.)
I've also spent time helping my son practice his audition music for the all-state choir process. He is sounding beautiful. It hit me tonight how far his musicality has advanced in the last three years, due in large part to his diligent work ethic and fine teachers. He plans to go into music education, and it looks like he is well on his way to a lifetime of music. I'm very proud of him; he's a fine young man. OK Decorating. I don't understanding decorating a house. I grew up in a house where there was a few prints on the wall, and a porcelain thing with two Edwardian figures courting and it played a tune. My grandmother gave it to my mother, im sure that the only reason it was displayed. If my mother was given any knick knacks or things they went into the hall cupboard never to be seen again. If I was given knick knacks from relatives or friends they slowly disappeared and I sometimes think i imagined them.
How do you get tolerance for decorating? I try it sometimes but although I like them I find they irritate me. |

There is a story (which could be pure fiction) that goes like this:
A male gay rights group approached a female gay rights group to see if they could work together: bigger demonstrations, coordinated campaigns, etc. The women replied: Whatever you discrimination you may suffer as homosexuals is more than balanced by the privilege you enjoy as men. No deal.

I got locked out of tapatalk. Viewing the forum full site on a phone screen is interesting. I took a nap today so I'll be up late. Dreaming of pumpkin spice treats and dreading the coming workweek. Good night friends.

Also, the sort of example you've provided is not all that uncommon -- another one that I've seen is when queer people of color refuse to work (with good reason again, given the history) with mainstream gay rights groups (which are usually run by somewhat privileged gay white men) because of the fear of being tokenized. So, yeah it's complicated and it's not like any one identity subsumes the other -- which also creates the problem of endless dissection of identities. Alright, I'll get off the soapbox right about here. |

I just tried to catch and kill fruit flies using yeast, sugar, hot water... It backfired, exploded all over and now mix kitchen smells like alcohol. But no fruit flies were killed in the experiment.

Yes I bought a couple of donut pans this weekend. Not bad about ten bucks each. There is a lemon poppyseed donut I want to try next. This one smells amazing!
