Um, yeah, though you're overlooking the fact that I could really use a hug right now. Just not from No. 1.

I'm officially a fan of early voting. In and out of polling place in about 5 minutes. Civic duty complete!

I find myself still feeling those warm fuzzies after yesterday's t session. The way she said "thanks for being you" as i was leaving. Like she wasn't bothered at all by my neediness. Even though it bothers me.

I know. I had NO line. The lady in front of me was chatting a bit with the clerk, but that was it.

Eta - its really nice not having it hanging over my head. I should try that with a few other chores around here.

I know what went wrong! It should have been Donald Trump winning a nobel prize and Bob Dylan running for president.

Isn't The World Series a ... series? Have they played all the games already?

New Zealand was the first to give women the right to vote in a national election. It did not let them stand for office until decades later.

I am trying to envision what Trump would win a Nobel in.

Economics, for how to go bankrupt and bounce back?
Literature, for "The Art of the Deal"?
Medicine, for his ability to diagnose opposing candidates' health issues?
Physics, for keeping his hair on his head?
Chemistry, for his ability to seduce women everywhere?
Or Peace, because he unites people against him?
Thanks for this!

Oh this election. I only rarely ever comment on politics but this one is just crazy. I don't like either of the main options. I hate the division it's causing among my friends - today for example, another of my longtime friends posted a general note on her facebook wall "If you are even thinking about voting for Trump, please unfriend me." Why does it have to come down to this with people? I'm not saying who I'm voting for, if I even bother to vote, but it hurts me that someone who has been my friend for many years would throw all of that away if my opinion differs from hers. I really further feel sad about it if she's basing her opinion mostly on the stupid half-baked crap the media throws at us every day. There that is my rant on this current presidential election.

I often think that politics has replaced religion for a lot of people, and it's religion in the days of let's-kill-all-the-unbelievers.

I feel a poem coming on about the whole forgiving my mother thing. I see myself avoiding it too, when it starts to write itself in my head I purposely start thinking about something else. I know I need to forgive her and let go of the hurt to move forward. But I also don't think I'm ready yet. I wonder how one gets 'ready' to forgive something that still feels unforgivable. I guess I do know actually, since I'm working through that part now - the seeing that what my mother said in that letter came from a place of her own pain, and she is 'only human' after all and so therefore makes mistakes, just like I do, I have made mistakes as a mother too, so I'm no better than she is, stuff like that. When I said all of that to t yesterday, she said something about well if you are able to forgive her, than you will also be able to forgive yourself. Hmm. Anyway.

On a side note, I think one of the best things (techniques?) I have learned in therapy is the ability to let a part of myself step aside and observe (be a witness to?) my process. Not sure how t managed to teach me that, but she did.

No, not as a general rule. I think since recently she got caught in my negative mother complex that day she was pushing me so hard, she's being extra-aware about anything to do with my mother and she didn't say much about it except for that might be the way I can forgive myself. The rest came from me.

I hear thunder outside! I am so in the mood for a good thunderstorm. I'm heading outside on my patio to watch the show.
