I was thinking after I posted that, that I should have mentioned TAWANDA!

What is the line? "If you won't listen, there's always Tawanda!" Was that it? It was something along those lines. Remembering that and thinking of my mom. Couch 127: The Wayward Couch

Does anyone else have long wavy hair? I am thinking off getting mine cut but I don't want it to be curly. I have had shoulder to waist lentgh hair for 20 years and cut it myself. The wave in my hair comes in about 2-3 inches from my scalp its very subtle till you get to 6-8 inches from the ends and its sort of curly-wavy. Have you had cut to a bob or shorter and was it just straightish.

Its my christmas present to myselff as well as makeup. I haven't worn makeup in about 10-12 years.

So I'm still puzzling over something t said in my session yesterday evening. While we were talking about me finally understanding inside myself that she and I are not friends - she said something like "there are elements of friendship in this relationship" or something like that and some other stuff that so puzzles me because she has always been clear with me about this being a professional relationship and all that and the way she was talking last evening - gah. I don't understand it. I argued against everything she was saying, telling her "I still maintain that this was an important thing for me to understand."

So perhaps that's why I sent her that email last night, that so embarrasses me to think of now, but maybe by my admitting what I did she understands better why I say it is so important for me that I understand that she and I are not friends. It felt very strange to hear her say that stuff she was saying. I also told her in my email that I want to talk more about it next week. I never thought I would ever be the one to reinforce therapeutic boundaries. But I feel like I have to. I have seen so many here get hurt because of a t's loose boundaries, that I am not going to let that happen here. She has been such a good t so far - so I want to think, surely I completely misunderstood what she was saying last night. Maybe in some unguarded part of herself she was feeling a little rejected by me??? Maybe she was afraid I was saying I was going to quit??? Or maybe.... maybe..... she was just throwing that stuff out there to see how I reacted you know, to see if I really understand what I said I understand?!?!

Goodness. I am probably just thinking way too much about it. I need to just leave it alone until next week when we can talk more about it.

Yes. The longer it gets the less wavy. When it's short it's more wavy. It's trapped between straight and frizzy right now, about halfway down my back, and I keep thinking I'm going to cut it all off again. When it was cut to a chin-length bob it was easy to blow dry it straight, but usually I just had gel in it and kept that messy bed-head look. Because lazy.
Thanks for this!

My hair is curly and thick and shoulder-length and I love it. Never been sure why so many women with curly hair want to straighten it. If I only use conditioner (no shampoo) on mine it removes a lot of the frizz and makes it very manageable.

I want to do something different with my hair again. Unfortunately, it's so short right now, I will have to let it grow out for awhile before I can change it again! I lost the natural waviness I used to have after menopause.

BlessedCheeseMaker, long her is heavier so it tends to pull the curl out with the weight. If you've got some wave now, it will probably be wavier when it is shorter. When you get it cut, you might look for a stylist who feels comfortable with curly hair! Some are more proficient with it than others.

I'm watching the trashy historical series, Versailles, because nothing feels more satisfying right now than watching Fabien interrogate scheming conspirators.

thanks for all the hair comments. my hair was always dead straight untill i was put on epilim and then when I stopped taking it my hair went about wavy. They dont tell you this in the list of side effects but one pdoc said it has this side effect in a small number of people and i may want to get a hair straightener.

Curls can be fun. Lots of conditioner, either the kind you leave in or just not rinsing well. A couple of scrunches and out the door.

I have always loved my curly hair! I am short and look young, so the curly hair hasn't helped in that regard, but now that I am in my mid-30s and have some greys, its not so bad anymore.

I also just use conditioner and nothing else.
Thanks for this!
