At the best social events, pants are optional. IMO.

If not everyone is wearing pants I'm not going. No offense, just who I am.

Its a sign of genius to combine two previously unrelated things

Also, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing

Eta - so, combine my little knowledge of various things, and you get... CAAAAAAKE!!!!

As always, Professor Unaluna, your grasp of logical reasoning leaves me in awe.

i probably won't even have to talk to my mother today, which is kind of another christmas present (even though our last conversation was surprisingly not bad, maybe because she was so busy talking smack about her brother she didn't have time to dis me) because she's spending the holiday and all this coming week at my sister's (the other one, not the one that just got engaged) and it will be the first christmas she's been able to spend with my niece who is now like 8? i think? anyway i'm happy to have no holiday family drama today. it helps to live around 1400 miles away from your family of origin....

Listening to the melodramatic depressive's playlist (starting with Joy Division's 'Love will tear us apart') while eating hard-boiled eggs out of a cup (think that ranks up there in terms of genius food inventions along with ice cream sandwiches) while waiting for the wind to die down (apparently I've driven through large parts of OK and TX when a wind advisory has been in effect and so, have been wondering why my little Honda Fit was getting pulled in all directions. The idea of a wind advisory actually needing to be heeded is brand new to me )

rr -- needing to mind parental craziness in public is a special form of shame-filled torture

i think i just scared a few years off my h's life. i get laryngospasms from time to time and I know perfectly well how to deal with them, but i guess in 19 years of marriage my h has never seen it before. they're so brief in duration he probably hasn't. i dunno but he was about freaking out, i couldn't talk of course to tell him i'd be ok in a minute, because they typically don't last longer than that, literally. I just have to tell myself to relax and breathe through my nose. I've been told that anxiety/stress can be a contributor, and my mother called earlier. Perhaps talking to her caused a lil anxiety I dunno. I'd thought I wasn't going to have to talk to her today.

Hope all are having a good holiday. Mine has been nerve wracking. Mom and I went out for lunch and when we went back to the hotel she passed out and hit her head in the elevator. She fought me on getting medical help but I said f this and had hotel staff call 911. She refused to go to the hospital so they couldn't do anything. She is sleeping again and I'm on watch I guess I really need to go back to my apt for an hour or so but I'm afraid to leave her
