This. So much this.

(Full disclosure: I have not told H that I've been in therapy for almost five years. If I had, I would not have been able to feel safe, do the work, and improve as much as I have.)

So I reserved this book at the library:

Couch 134 - The Untriquadium Couch

Went to pick it up today - the librarian said "oh, I'll have a look in the children's section since it's about parenting" and I responded "oh, no, it's about the inner child, not the outer child!"

Made me laugh... She didn't though!

Yes please! Open call for passengers in Luc's pocket, all are welcome...

Sitting in the pub down the road now... Not drinking, just having a cup of tea and trying to calm down a bit!

Weren't you talking about cheerleading smiles yesterday?

*hops into pocket*

echos: Glad it went well
art: I agree with the others... You don't have to tell your H anything. I'd probably tell him if he asked, but if he doesn't care enough for that...

Thanks for sharing that, i appreciate it. I would probably have been doing even better if I'd never told h - but he was a big part of getting me help initially when i was mired in the worst of my depression and was all for it back then. He sees it as just wasting money now because I'm not depressed anymore. Yeah dear, because for me going to therapy now is a wellness thing so i don't slide back into depression. He doesn't see it that way.

Thanks. That's true it's not but he monitors $ so closely and what i put in my therapy acct isn't enough to cover 2 sessions a month so i have to use my hsa and he tracks everything. But I'm the one putting money from MY paycheck in the hsa every 2 weeks so why can't i use it? He's all it's not your money it's our money. He won't even let me have my full bonuses he expects half of them to go to "our" acct. I feel like 100 percent of my bonuses should be mine cuz i work my *** off for them. Need to tell him that. He acts like he's cmy father. Rant over.sorry

There are a lot of different ways for couples to work finances out.
The way that worked best for me was if we each put in the same percentage of income rather than amount - to a shared account.
Perhaps one of the benefits of being unmarried lesbian was that we did not share medical insurance accounts so the other never could have had a say.

That's sounds quite controlling behaviour. I'm sorry you've got that to contend with. You earn the money therefore it should be yours to spend without him questioning and tracking it

What kind of backwards library would put parenting books in the children's section?

For those children who have to parent themselves? Starting early.

Yeah I wondered about that too! I guess parents bring their kids there and might want to look at the parenting books whilst their kids look at the children's books?

Is there a record for therapist non-responsiveness and yet responsiveness to an initial contact? March 1 I called a potential new therapist, left a message. Didn't hear back, so assumed she wasn't taking new clients. Okay by me.

Yesterday - March 21 - three weeks later! - I get a text from her saying she is full up. She seems under the delusion I called last week. So is twenty days a record for a therapist to tell you she's not taking new clients? Why bother to respond at all?

I am seriously tempted to send a snippy text in reply.

I know i shouldn't rant about h. I should just decide - if I'm gonna stay I'm making my own bed and should just shut up about it, or decide to leave and just do it and thereby shut up about it. I guess I'm just so unable to figure out what i want. Probably because of being so controlled by my parents when younger and now by h i just have no capability to know what i want. Navajo rabbit.
