Thanks SD, I contemplated putting it all in together but really thought that it would be gross to be eating 3 different stages of pasta once. But, if they were only 1 minute apart I definitely would have done it. I guess that I have my limits, lol.

My sister and mother picked out all of their appliances today. (They are both in the process of having new houses built.) They will be living next door to each other. If my sister were not so much like our mother, I would say she qualifies for sainthood. She still might...

Because H doesn't, and he's annoyed that I thought that.

Also, I'm feeling sensitive right now to being given alternative verbiage for expressing my feelings. It came up when I said something to someone who told me a better way to say it...and I'm thinking, it was enough to get it out there and if they can come up with an alternative statement that says the same thing, then I guess I was successful at communicating.

Anyway, unless he was being snarky in his tone, I'd chalk it up to communication style. If he was supportive, isn't that good?
I am in agreeable w RR here. Unless he said it sarcastically, I don't find it patronizing. I am confused how the mortgage stuff fits into this? Was this all part of the same conversation?

I am probably not all that discerning when it comes to pasta. I don't think I would be able to tell the difference -just that the worst case scenario (different donenesses) would not be all that bad for me-I really think they would be all cooked about the same no matter what the box said.

Just had a storm blow through with nearby tornados. We had baseball size hail. Time to call insurance to assess our roof. Cars were in the garage at least. Any left out lost windshields.

No, of course not.

If he draws strength from your relationship (and I bet he does), he should include that in his reckoning.

A little variety in texture might make the meal more interesting.

But you can put the 11 minute pasta in first, then the 9 minute pasta two minutes later and then the 7 minute pasta two minutes after that. And it will all be ready together.

(I studied production scheduling at university. )

That is great - I feel like an idiot for not thinking of it.
I would still probably just dump it all in at once. But still - I should have been able to think of it.

I've been through worse, but not in this house. In the 80's, I was in my parents' house when a hail storm with baseball to softball sized hail hit and went on for about half an hour. Windows were breaking on the north side of the house. Fortunately my dad had just had storm windows installed and the interior panes held. Cars looked like someone had taken baseball bats to them. There wasn't a car or home or business left undamaged from that storm. THAT was a scary storm. By comparison, this was medium in intensity. Insurance companies are going to be busy tomorrow though.

I only made it into mini-wheel pose (balanced on the crown of my head, arms not yet extended).

I suppose it's progress.

Eighteen months ago I was at an airshow at which there was a crash which killed eleven people. My bus just stopped near to where it happened for ages and I am getting massively triggered, I don't know what to do. Trying not to have a panic attack.
