It would be very helpful if my therapist (either) were also a veterinarian/IT person.

I think my partner ate a box of chocolates I was given for my birthday and is now lying to me about it. Badly.

Honestly this might be the last straw. It's not even the stealing of my birthday gift due to complete lack of self control that's the problem. It's the lying. He's a liar.

I go back and forth on a pretty regular basis between weekly and every 2 weeks. (Heck during my first year, there was one stretch where I went twice a week!) Then sometimes I stubbornly take a month off. My t is pretty flexible when it comes to that.... I would think it's a pretty normal thing.

My fiance is a compulsive liar too. And he lies about the dumbest things. Like "oh the grocery store ran out of your juice" when really he just forgot it. It's so annoying and makes it hard to trust him on anything.

Dont listen to me because im a lonely old crone, but i loved when my h's did something really egreeeeegious. The early mr luna gave me such an excellent reason to leave him at our second anniversary dinner, i cant even write it here, the jerk.

Agh - yes, the stupid lies about meaningless things are the worst! It just suggests to me that lying is second nature to him, that he'll do it to avoid even the smallest of confrontations or inconveniences... and I find that so worrying. I don't want to be with a fundamentally dishonest person. I really don't.

Hi, couch. Home early from CVS. It was dead and I have to be back there at 7am for the inventory task, so pharm manager told me to clock out. I took a nap in the car between CVS and Denny's. Sleeping in the car felt a little odd, but it was refreshing. Lol.

I logged into my master's course when I got home, everything I submitted early was graded. I currently have 78/99 points. The last point possible is for weekly participation. I may say to hell with that this week as one point will not bump me to a B-. I will have a C+ whether I get that point or not. Heh. It will be my lowest grade thus far in my masters classes, but I had a rough few weeks in my personal life during this class, so I am glad that I was able to pull higher than a C. :\

In other news about my master's course...my teacher gave me a 100% on my final powerpoint and said it is the best she has seen in all her years of teaching this course and asked if she could use it as an exemplar for future classes if she removed my name. Wow. I hated my powerpoint and thought it sucked because it did not meet me standards and wasn't as good as my usual powerpoints. I guess I was wrong. I PMed me teacher and gave her permission to use it. I guess I should feel good about it. I guess I have a "gift" at making powerpoints.

I should be getting ready for bed as I have to be up at 6am to get to CVS by 7am in the morning, but I am not tired. I do still need to clean. Maybe that will wear me out some. I probably won't finish tonight as I ate cleaning. But, I should at least try to start. Starting is the hardest part.

Ok, who has seen this before? I got a rental car finally while mine's in the shop and lo and behold there's no gear shift, rather, there's a gear DIAL. On the center display where the radio should be. All the times I had to reverse or 3pt turn and I reach out and grab a handful of air where the gear shift should be, and then I have to fiddle with this tiny dial and look for a little letter "R" instead of just grabbing the shift stick and jiggling it into place while keeping my eyes on the road like a smart person.

What about when I need to change the radio station? Grab the fiddly gear dial by accident and wreck the transmission? Oh you didn't know? You change the radio station by tapping the LED screen! Duh!

I miss my 2011 pre-tech BS car. One where you actually stick a key in and it goes and that's all and it's good at its job.

My truck is 17 years old, it used to have a remote lock/unlock but it got lost. I'm the only person in any parking lot sticking an actual key into my door. My friend has a remote that stays in her purse that allows the doors to unlock and the push button starter will crank the car when her purse is in the vicinity. I find it all really strange. Electronic gadgets are usually finicky and break quickly. Wonder how long the dash/gearshift will work before going in for costly repairs?

Yeah i hate thinking im being an old grouch about it. But a couple of times i booked myself into a zipcar with like electronic start or its a hybrid or something weird, and of course im running late as usual (its a car thing for me) so nobodys there, and the people on the phone just say find the drivers manual, and im like, like anais said, i just expected to GO, not spend FIVE MINUTES getting the car started!

Then you realize it IS "intuitive", to your future self, and you just hate yourself. And then love yourself for being so clever. Its very challenging! So kind of a humble whine brag opportunity?

There should be a clever essay about it in huffpo or wapo. Maybe not nytimes.

I'm with you, but W says that some people grow up lying in self defence and it takes time to break the habit.

I am definitely a habitual self-defense liar from childhood, mainly in quick-moving social interactions that I wasn't expecting to have.

I hate it. And the lies are always about the dumbest, most insignificant and forgivable things (though they would have been unforgivable things to my parents) and usually it's so much easier to say what is true from the beginning.

But I'm doing it less. And I think the lying is closely related to perfectionism, too. Not perfect? Lie.
