Hi Couch!

I'm seeing the number of posts in 'Dear T...' go up and up. Soon be time for a new thread. Who's going to take that over?

Ask a moderator to start it? Or anyone in the community who does not have anyone on their ignore list? Maybe just PM a mod and ask them to start a new one when that one runs out

Morning.
Baby threw pacifier out of her crib so didn't sleep the best since at least 4AM.
Therefore, has low patience this AM.
Nothing like a tired, cranky toddler.
Can't wait to take her to target in 20 minutes.... /sarcasm
Going to company picnic this afternoon.

Took my first dose of metformin last night. I had a minor stomach issue but nothing major and slept well. Took my 2nd dose this AM then had peanut butter on bread. Will see how it goes. If no major side effect occurs, I will take another dose tonight after dinner. I just hope this isn't the calm before a major storm with this med, because I do need to go to work Monday, so I hope there isn't delayed side effects. If it stays as it was last night...I'll be just fine. My father told me he takes it and never had any side effects., but he's on a bunch of meds because he has end stage liver disease-so his body may have just not responded to it.

Morning couch.

I am up and caught up on the couch. Looks like I did not miss much. I am just chilling a little before attacking some more of my room. I just have my recliner, desk, and bureau to straighten up. It will get done. Two and a half hours till I have to leave for CVS. When I get home from there I will also have to try to get a few more discussion posts done for my masters course and then start the 2nd of 3 assignments this week. I am trying to do better at staying on top of things this class than last class. Last class was during the last bit of the school year though, so I had a lot going on.

I'm glad to hear things are going well, and hope they continue to do so! Personally I started feeling the effects almost immediately, so you should be in the clear!

Hour and a half until T time. I'm nervous.

Good luck with T. I'll pocket ride if you want.

My stomach is acting up this morning but still not unbearable so I'll see how the day goes.

I want a new place to live. Maybe I can live in my car. Or the woods. Landlord is becoming crazy. The other renter left, so she said she has to increase my rent to make up for it. WTF?!? Why not just find another renter. I can't afford an increase. Looked on craigslist but the only affordable ones are in shady areas or sound fishy. I would do a rent by week hotel, but those are expensive as well. Grrrr............ I hate my luck.

I guess I will just live in my car and become a bum.

ETA: She is increasing it from $450 to $700

T texted with me this morning. Told me that I have to stay ahead of the voices with my medication and to take it in the afternoon. He said my blood levels of the AP are lowest in the evening and that's why they come at night

That is a big increase. Is this an indirect way of evicting you?

But I would warn you against the weekly hotels (that aren't chains) - I had some fellow students who lived in them and had their stuff stolen.

Do you know anyone at work or CVS that might be looking for a roomie?
Thanks for this!

Yes, squirrel...maybe you can talk to everyone you know to see if anyone knows anybody who needs a roommate. I wouldn't go off Craigslist. There are other ways to find a place to live. Is that much of an increase even legal? Did you sign a rental agreement? I would look into that.

Ouch...

I know weekly hotel were expensive, but wow, they are more than I thought. The non-sketchy ones are about $300 a week. That would be $1200 a month. I could get an apt with that, plus that is not affordable. Grrrr.... Looks like I will be living in my car with no internet and have to drop out of school.

I did not sign a rental agreement. This was a friend of a friend, so we just made verbal agreements. I guess that was dangerous, but it is what it is. I will try to find somewhere to live. I just don't know if that will be possible. Grrr...

Please do what you can to not live in the car-- I had to look into that option this past late summer- it's extremely dangerous, illegal (at least up here- they can fine you for it), and you can very easily become hypo or hyperthermic while you sleep and have no idea.

I've done craigslist apartments before. It's really not all that bad if you're careful- always go see it in person, bring a friend if you can, make sure the paperwork is straight, don't respond when people say they're out of town and will mail you keys- those are always overseas scams.

But yes, a rent increase like that is completely illegal here, and likely where you are too, but you'd have a hard time arguing it since you have to written record.

Maybe this is preachy but having had a fire in my apartment last year I know how badly this can go-- have written records and leases for this stuff. If anything happens it's the only thing protecting you.

(((Squirrel))) 700 seems like a lot for a one room share. Would it be just you and the landlady then? Would you get the other room and the bathroom would be yours alone? It might be workable - it would give you more space, and if you started cooking at home more and eating out less, it could be less expensive and healthier, which you know ive been mildly bugging you about

How big is the other room? Maybe try to talk her down from the 700 by offering 600? Idk, im terrible at bargaining. Doesnt her dog love you, or is that the other renters dog?

At least its a better time to look for a new place, you have all summer.

Eta i just googled central florida studio apartments and room for rent - wow, i couldnt afford to live there either. 700 is not that unreasonable, unfortunately.

Yea...700 is about average around here. I would not get the other room..The bathroom would be mine though. It is the landlady's dog and he does love me and I would miss him. I just posted a message on my facebook asking if anyone knew of anyone renting out a room. It's worth a try.

There is a homeless camp set up in the local park. I guess I could always try that as well.

do you live close to disney world? It just seems like a lot for a 1 room rent. Are utilities included in that? I would maybe try having a conversation with the lady. She's taking advantage because you don't have a written agreement. It would be illegal if you had it writing. I would try to talk her down and just be like seriously? I work 10 jobs I'm hardly here. I understand the cost if you live near Disney though? It's one of the top family vacation spots in the world.
Thanks for this!
