My mom who is a 911 dispatcher doe the county took the wife's calls, he knew the trooper not only from growing up, but also as a former sheriff deputy and she dispatched for him. She is wrecked and wants to quit her job. And I just don't know how to handle all the Sadness around me.
I don't think one has to handle it. I think one simply has to let the others be sad.
They are separate. You can't fix it and it is not yours - I don't see that you have to do anything.

Thanks for that perspective. Maybe I need to outline what I would want from him in different scenarios. And that way if I ask when those scenarios come up, it won't seem like a surprise.

*sneaks in* hi this is echos m (incognito). Facing a scary session tomorrow. Don't wanna post details as I'm ambivalent about returning to doing that on here (I deleted my old account primarily to get rid of the proverbial paper trail). I just know that posting here could be comforting and helpful somehow. And I'm feeling mighty anxious. Hugs appreciated.

This is the same feeling I had when I realized that everyone has sex. My friends, my family, my coworkers, my therapist.

Eww.

That makes me think of the time when...I guess in relation to my being concerned I'd get H, uh, "turned on" then he'd be disappointed or physically uncomfortable if I didn't want to have sex--we ended up discussing "blue balls" in marriage counseling. I think MC was saying how it's really not that awful, and there were really only a couple times for him when it was considerably uncomfortable, or something like that, and I was like, dying. Pretty sure I spent the rest of that session making great eye contact with the rug...

Can't speak for anyone but me, but I'm happy to be supportive without asking questions. Hope you're doing well otherwise.

In one of my very first sessions with roboT (like 2nd or 3rd), we talked about how my H is disappointed at times with my...ability to fellate. God it was so awkward. He's old enough to be my dad.

Yikes--I've had enough difficulty talking about things like that with my female T...though then again, she's my mom's age. (MC is 12 years older than me.)

No time like the present! I adore this poem

"How pleasant to know Mr.Lear!"
Who has written such volumes of stuff!
Some think him ill-tempered and queer,
But a few think him pleasant enough.

His mind is concrete and fastidious,
His nose is remarkably big;
His visage is more or less hideous,
His beard it resembles a wig.

He has ears, and two eyes, and ten fingers,
Leastways if you reckon two thumbs;
Long ago he was one of the singers,
But now he is one of the dumbs.

He sits in a beautiful parlour,
With hundreds of books on the wall;
He drinks a great deal of Marsala,
But never gets tipsy at all.

He has many friends, lay men and clerical,
Old Foss is the name of his cat;
His body is perfectly spherical,
He weareth a runcible hat.

When he walks in waterproof white,
The children run after him so!
Calling out, "He's gone out in his night-
Gown, that crazy old Englishman, oh!"

He weeps by the side of the ocean,
He weeps on the top of the hill;
He purchases pancakes and lotion,
And chocolate shrimps from the mill.

He reads, but he cannot speak, Spanish,
He cannot abide ginger beer:
Ere the days of his pilgrimage vanish,
How pleasant to know Mr. Lear!
