I don't know what to do with this stupid car. I just spent over $1000 registering it and putting new tyres on it. It will cost around a $1000 for a new engine. The car only cost me $2000 a few years ago. Or do I cash in some of my retirememnt money and buy a good used car? Decisions, i am not very good at making them in the first place.

If it were me I would take into consideration that if I replaced the engine would it last a few more years, and not need any other major repairs? If yes, replace the engine. If not, I would sell it and get a more reliable used car.

Yes you are right, that would make more sense. Then get a better car when I am older to last til I cant drive anymore (i can't imagine such a thing as being too old to drive)

I like couches cause I can lie down. Although T often tells me to get up and "participate"

I would get another car. What car is the one you have now? Is it worth shelling the money out to repair it?

I highly recommend toyotas and hondas. They will go forever if properly taken care of. My T has a honda civic from the 90s. 300,000+ miles

I'm sorry, that sounds really difficult. I'm guessing the reason she didn't touch your other hand is how you reacted to the first one, so she didn't want it to be too much for you.

I got weepy in yin yoga (which sounds similar--slow stuff on the floor, but without the body work) a couple days ago, which was the second time that happened in three classes. I mentioned to T after the first time it happened, and she said she had a client who said she cried the first two times she did yoga. So I think it's fairly common, so your instructor likely wouldn't have found it to be weird. I'm guessing the movements just release something in the body. (Yoga instructor was talking about some sort of channels--some non-English word with a "v"--in the body and shifting them through the movements.) Adding the bodywork would just make it more intense, I imagine.
Thanks for this!

Ditto with toyota/honda. I have a used Camry from 2011 and when I take it in for work mechanics tell me every time that I made the best choice and it'll go forever. Camry is expensive but you can find used ones very cheap.

Just don't do what I did and wear down the brake pads to the metal. And go a year without having the alignment done. Or 10,000 miles without oil. I am not a good car mommy.

Yeah. But I wish she would have asked me about it instead of just not coming back. The class was two hours with 16 people and I saw everyone else getting several minutes of work, which was hard for me.

I'm also not a good car mommy, but my Toyota has withstood the abuse that I've put on it. 200,000+ miles and it's still going. My Ford's certainly haven't.

And maybe for whatever car you end up with, if the tires are pretty worn, you might be able to reuse use the ones you just bought? Maybe that's a horrible idea. Maybe tire sizes aren't as universal-ish as I'm assuming. Idk. I don't know much about cars at all.

If the tires fit the new car then you can absolutely put them on. I had just put new tires on a car when the transmission blew, so my mechanic was able to put them on the "new" purchase.

I had never heard of Hobby Lobby, but apparently there is one in the city where I live (and it has great online reviews).

In a shopping center nearby there is both an A.C. Moore and a Michael's. I never knew they had more competition.

There's a Michael's near M too. I always hit it up on the way home. Either that or take my compost to the community bin, the other thing that's on the way :-\
