+1 @ Spoon

When I made my first enquiries, they seemed very keen to get me on CBT. I practically shouted at the poor woman: 'I've been doing the things that I've been 'avoiding' for months in the hope of some change....no CBT!'

Should have been an indicator when we got cut off twice during that call, but I persevered, and got set up (both senses?) with P. That went well...but thank God for R.

Good luck, Daisy!

Munie...I'm sorry they charged you such a hefty bill, but I think it's a good thing that they didn't find anything.

I'm torn between investigating white noise and sleep soundtrack things, and realising that if I aim to improve my sleep, I still have to deal with the stuff that's preventing me from sleeping in daylight hours. Navajo Rabbit....

Not sure if that's good... I mean, she did have a seizure for over a minute and there are places she can fall pretty high... If I don't know the cause I'll have to keep her in the small cage all the time...

Also they told me that there is stuff, like brain tumors, they can't see...

And the sleeping thing... it's easier to deal with life if one is well rested. It sucks anyway though

Yeah... I'm waiting for my oral exam at uni. My jeans are dirty because I I had to walk through some mud to get to the vet. I look like a huge mess but didn't have time to put on other clothes between vet and time I had to be here. I obviously have my priorities straight

Hope it goes well, Daisy.

And hope your bird is OK Demunie. It's crazy how expensive vets can be--I had a sickly guinea pig years ago (passed away at like 8 months--think he had a heart condition), and they gave him oxygen at the vet's. I forget what the charge for that was, maybe like $300, plus more for the vet visit and testing. Like, it's just oxygen! And he was a little thing--how much could he have used?

DBT? My T mentioned this to me once, like trying out a group, since she thought I needed help regulating my emotions. I'd read about it before and was like, "no thanks!" I know it really helps some people, just doesn't seem like it would work for me. (CBT didn't really either.)

Occasionally L has worked a few CBT-style exercises into our session but if I had to do it for real I think I would lose it

But she's really good at noticing when I'm about to swing into depression or hypomania and sneaking in a few CBT things to help stay stable. It works well for that in my case. The part I hate the most is that she makes me email her "one sentence a day" to tell her how it's going, then she replies with a question for me, and then I'm left wondering if that question should be answered right away or if I've used up today's sentence and should answer the question tomorrow, but that would mean wasting tomorrow's sentence on a her-thing and not a me-thing, but.....

Uhhh
It's a really dumb conundrum, I know

I should have known from the trouble I had getting the book. I had to order it from Amazon.

The first copy ordered, they sent me an espresso machine by mistake. (First time in twenty years they've sent me the wrong thing.)

The second copy, the seller mistakenly believed they had the item in stock.

The third copy was shipped but had some misadventure along the way and could not be delivered because of damage.

See, that's what I call a sign.

Anyway, I decided I'm out. CW can go stuff herself if she doesn't like it. I have Info, after all.

So.... T didn't feel quite 100% present today. The connection wasn't really there. I think there's some transference and countertransference we haven't quite gotten to grips with yet.

Wow - I have never had all that happen with an order from amazon.
Did they at least let you keep the espresso machine? And how do you mistake an espresso machine for a book?
