Most kidney stones are metabolic in origin, I don't metabolise citric acid very well as the main component of my kidney stones are citrates, so now I avoid any citric fruit and anything with citric acid and I haven't had a kidney stone in nearly 7 years
Thanks for this!

M did a good job with his phone call. I was skeptical. But I'm still around so it worked, and I think I will carry the things he said with me for a long time.

I am at peak fingertip ugliness
The next step is they reach critical thickness and peel off. And then we start all over again.

really? i didn't have an UTI either time, and my urologist never mentioned this.

"Most" kidney stones are calcium oxalate stones. The Mayo clinic breaks down the types of stones quite nicely in this article:

Kidney stones - Symptoms and causes - Mayo Clinic

I hope you don't have one again. I have had 2 before, somewhat close together, and neither time was a UTI involved (thank god).

Conversation with my mom about the dog we're getting.
Me: So, we're getting a dog!
Mom: Why?
Me: Um, because we want one?
Mom: Where will you keep it?
Me: Uh, in the house?
Mom: But what about at night? Will it just be wandering into D's room?
Me: Well, at night she'll mostly be sleeping. But she'll also be in a crate. She's crate trained. And housebroken.
Mom: ...
Me: We'll lock her in a room if you visit.
I then go on to tell the story about how we met her. Pretty sure my mom didn't care...

I get this. This sounds like what rainbow said she did at her last session. Its what i used to do with my mother all the time, and with other people. Tell them a story, but for whose benefit? I only THINK im connecting; im really not. I had to stop fooling myself. It was very hard to give up.

Eta - sorry, i dont mean to be picking on you. But filling in the silence is one thing ive (tried to?) stopped doing on the phone, so this conversation hit home with me. And your saying she didnt care.

I'd lock your mom in a room when she visits, instead of the dog.

I saw a sign addressed to visitors: If you don't want dog hair on your clothes, don't sit on the furniture.

I am watching a truly bizarre ballet based on Bizet's Carmen.

What's the ballet sd?

Was playing Carmen all this week. There are worse things one could do.

They seem to be saying Gordon (assuming you mean Melvin), then Cohen, then Cook.
Didn't realize Bradford was out (almost picked him up last week).

And I find FF to be a good outlet for my obsessive tendencies, too! Plus my H plays, too, and it can be fun when I beat him I do drive him a little nuts with it, because I'll be checking scores when we're out.

Sadly, I had David Johnson AND Allen Robinson on one of my teams--they got hurt in the first game and are out for either most or all of the season...
LT and Elio, I'm thrilled to see that you both play FF! I have 2 teams as well and while I love FF, it is stressful! I have Aaron Rodgers on one team who is having a crappy night and I have Jordy Nelson on my other team and what happened to him tonight? I just tuned in and he's gotten ZERO points!! And Eziekiel Elliott getting 2 points is killing me too! UGH!

Hopefully next week, I will be caught up on the couch and can get some advice from you guys BEFORE the games, not after them!

Good luck this season!!

Honestly, it always feels like a shock (almost like a literal shock) when someone uses my name. It is a very unsettling feeling. I've always felt like I wasn't important to remember so I've just attributed it to that.

Yeah, I get that with my "Christian name" / baptismal name because while it was given to me, it doesn't feel ME / mine. I am still thinking of a name that feels mine.

With my regular legal name, I grew up feeling so invisible unless I was about to get punished, so I don't like my name either.

T and my partner say it so gently though, and my partner wants to change his legal name which he hates as well.

Baking soda will certainly make stones more likely.
