(((granite))) I hope he's close enough for visits!

And it's only a matter of time til my son moves out.... he saved up enough $ to buy a used Rodeo like the one that got totalled in January, he paid $2700 for it and it's real nice. He now knows he can save that much so his next goal is to save enough for a down payment on a small condo. Won't take him long, now that he knows he can do it... small condos can be had for not much money here.... plus he'll have a roommate paying him rent... He's already planning. Not even 19 yet. They grow up so fast....

I was hoping she'd be named Apple Pie Oreo.

I need to buy a pack, see they're awful, and move on, don't I?

But then every time I'd mention her, I'd get essays from Oreo purists and have to be like, "No, the dog! Not the cookie."

Part of the trouble is I only eat oreos when they're dipped in red wine. What would I dip an apple pie oreo in (that wouldn't knock me flat after eating three?)

t e-mailed me back. He said he is still there and supports me and wishes me well. He said he's glad I'm making progress and that he knows I can make it through this. He said hang in there and I care about you

It made me cry

Hey Velcro I just saw your post in the session thread. I'm gonna respond here. While part of my motivation to get clean is to get back to work in therapy and to see T... The majority of me wants to be clean because I am so freaking tired of chasing a high. And all that entails.. Especially financially. And the isolation and lying. It tears me apart but that part of my brain that needs to be high doesn't care
I'm trying to take it back and retrain again. It's definitely hard so using T as a temporary goal point is helping me pull thru it. But I'm not doing it 100% for him. This is my life and I want something better

I made way too many nachos for one person and thought that I'd offer some here so feel free to dig in! Believe it or not, there is about a cup of Monterrey Jack cheese on there but it was the first layer so much of it is hidden. Enjoy!

ETA: They were made with Tostitos with a hint of lime for extra deliciousness

Oh gawd.....it'd somehow never occurred to me that nachos could be made at home (please don't ask how I believed otherwise all this while -- it seems some things are well beyond my cognitive capacity).

Now, I am well and truly done for.

i'm glad to hear that! you are doing great, and honestly, "sound" better already, even though you are at the beginning of the withdrawal/getting sober process.

LT and Elio, do you have any FF players playing tonight? Let me know and I'll root for them. My Matchups are both decided and I went 1 and 1 this week. I thought that I was going to win both but my opponent had a couple of really big point scorers in last night's game. BOO!
Thanks for this!

Nope, no one tonight, but thanks! I went 1 and 1, too--won by a bunch in one league (surprisingly, my team that lost David Johnson and Allen Robinson) and lost by a bunch (like 40 points...) in the other. And looks like we won the round in our Pick'em league this year (or whatever it's called, where we pick the winner of each game--lost that last week). H and I are working together on that one, opponents in the others!

H is a Giants fan though (he's from that area originally).
Thanks for this!

what do you win for winning the pick 'em round? I'm in a knock out pool where you have to pick one team every week that MUST win or else you are knocked out of the pool. And you can only pick that team once during the season. So far, I've picked Dallas in Week 1 and Oakland in week 2 and am still alive. There are at least 500 people in this pool and we all pay $20 each so the pot is huge!

Hm, I think the prize is just at the end--first time doing this one. It's one of H's friends running it, and the rules seem rather...elaborate. Like under a very specific scenario, you can throw a red flag and change your MNF football pick. Or something. I think it's $20, and it's 32 players.

That's a huge pot if there are 500 people in that one you're doing! That's tough that you can only pick each team once...
Thanks for this!

Boones Farm Apple.

I think that was a thing back in the day. I could be just an old lady sitting in a corner shouting out nonsense words from time to time.

Hmmm cider could work. My opinion on shandies is that there is a time and a place for them- never, and down the drain.

I'm willing to bet a lot of the "blonde"-cookied oreos would go ok with Frangelico. Everything's good with Frangelico.

Una, you can yell words at me anytime.
