That's expensive upfront wow Is there a payment plan they can offer?

My parents paid for my current pair and the assessment upfront, then I slowly paid them back.

Yeah, 500$ are the cheap ones with glasses... they usually don't until you buy really expensive ones. Lol.

(Also they made my dog vomit. Wasn't nice to watch especially as it was "for nothing" as there was no glass in her stomach. She's still extremely disoriented)

Ugg...I bet that was difficult to watch. I hope Malawill be OK soon. I'm glad she wasn't injured. I hope you weren't injured by the glass shard too *hugs*

Can you use your existing prescription and just pay for new glasses without the exam?

Sorry your dog was sick, too--hope she's all better now.

The exam itself is only about 50$

BUT

apparently I made some sort of service contract when I got the glasses (can't remember that but uh, apparently I signed something), which is why they replace everything for free. They couldn't get the frame anywhere though, so they let me choose a new one and I only had to pay the difference between the original price of the old one and the one I choose. They won't charge for the new glasses either

yeah... I'm relieved

(Also the doctor gave me another round of antibiotics. They have chemotherapeutic written on them, which made me wonder at first but apparently that's normal)

The ongoing conflict with my printer is intensifying. It worked perfectly up until two days ago, and I now don't know why my scanner is broken. Trying to reinstall the software is fun when I have a very, very, very short fuse at the moment.

You said you weren't the only one to miss this. I don't think you can blame yourself if others missed it too. Mistakes happen. You're only human. Please try to be kind to yourself. You help so many other people. Can you try to think of this as a learning experience? Hugs to you.

I have been awake since 3:30 a.m. I did a bunch of stuff around my house for about 4 hours until I had to get ready to leave. Now that I am "out in the world" I am aware of my inability to form complete sentences. Unfortunately, I am at a dr's appt. now & I have another one later at 4:15, with errands in between. I just want to sleeeeeep.

Has anyone experienced derealization? I think I'm experiencing it this morning. I'm looking out the window and everything feels so wrong and fake, like I'm not a part of it. I took some cough syrup last night so hopefully I would stop coughing long enough to fall asleep and I know this stuff has some trippy side effects if you drink too much, but I don't think I took too much. I've read that derealization can happen with depression sometimes too. Anyone experience something similar?

Yes. On and off for years on end.
It's an awful feeling isn't it Tends to happen with any kind of trauma too... I hope it passes quickly for you.

I disagree but I get why you'd feel that way. Take care of yourself. You deserve it. After all, you caught it in the end. That's good. You don't take it lightly, that's good too. You're not evil or bad though. You did the best you could.

To continue with my whining, why are dr's offices so freaking cold? I am turning into an ice cube.

Thanks, I would definitely take it to stay warm. I am not one of those people who can sleep anywhere, tho. (I envy those people).

I've had moments in childhood and recently where it's like I'm pulling back and seeing everything as an outsider. Like I'm just a character in a TV show or in someone's mind. Where nothing seems real, the world doesn't seem to actually exist. It usually only lasts a few minutes, but it's kind of strange.

Hallelujah! Thanks to HP technical support on Facebook, I now have a functional scanner. I was overthinking it, per usual.

You're a doctor yeah? if it's anything like the hospitals over here you are made to work 48 hours shifts with very small breaks. The whole medical culture of torturing junior doctors to make them stronger is wrong and needs to be changed

Hey Demunie that's great about your glasses and dog. This is one of those things you can keep for bad days. You can say "remember when the world was about to end because Mala ate my glasses?" Well you can try it at least, it may help.
Thanks for this!
