Hugs. Thank you. I know this intellectually, but of course emotionally it's different and I still live with him, sigh.

Hugs. It's so tough to be crying at work. You deserve to exist. You don't deserve the immense pain you're in.
Thanks for this!

Weird, because I was thinking how painful it would be to live with someone who constantly caused you pain. At least the pain I feel is a pain caused only by me.

*hugs* I can feel very lonely sometimes even though I crave solitude a great deal.

As for living with abusers, T says I'm numbed out most of the time. She's probably right. I recently found out that she offers half an hour sessions on special circumstances outside of her usual clinic hours. I asked her why she didn't offer them to me during the one year I was only getting to see her once a month. She said it'd have taken the whole half hour to open me up, and then we'd have to close me up.

I stay in my room and avoid my family. I read somewhere that when the body is frequently in fight-flight, we learn to numb out and shut down. Like pulling out the battery in a smoke alarm. So I'm really rarely distressed by living with them unless something happens like an argument.

Awww...Mala looks tiny in all that snow. I like looking at it, but I'm less fond of not being able to get around in it.

So last night's dreams included finding out I was accepted into one of the PhD programs I'd applied to, complete with a full written evaluation of my application and saying I'd barely made it in, but I did. Was happy, then a little sad when I woke up and realized it was just a dream (in reality, based on what department head told me, I should find out within a month if I'm outright rejected or if I've been offered an interview, which they require. Not sure of timeline of other place.)

Another part of my dream involved watching a police show (Law & Order sort of thing), except some of the cops were ghosts! Time to write my pitch to the networks?

I just realized I have 6 dog beds for just 2 dogs. Granted, the cat does use one of them, but still. And the dogs get on my bed and my couch. And they use them all - except for the cat one which the cat does not share.

Well, if it is my house he is coming to, I hope he does not bring another dog bed. It is hard to walk around with them all over the floors

Last night was a night for dreams. I had 3 - in the first one, very short, there were these turtles standing on their hind legs, each encased inside a bubble, floating up in the sky. The other two dreams were longer and much more convoluted and involved my son being a drug dealer and a part of some mafia family and some sorta-sexual stuff involving me and 2 women. there were also these two kids who said their inhaler exploded and one of them had powder all over his face when I tried to help him these other people came up
Possible trigger:
and then my husband was flirting with a neighbor who asked to borrow our phone which needed a new battery and instead of a battery he tried to put a viagra tablet in it and a delivery came for my son and it was a big box that contained a "fishing vase", whatever that is. oh yeah and our steps didn't work right. they were metal plates that you had to pull out one at a time with your toes in order to go up them. and it was our house, but it wasn't our house.

Hmmm....
Thanks for this!

Is there a dogbed rule? Like the litter box rule—one litter box per cat and a spare?

In your case, 2 beds per dog and a spare?

ETA: and all I dreamed of last night was 2ex suddenly moved back in, divorce or no divorce.

Wow, those are some crazy dreams--last ones sound pretty scary. I like the image from the turtle one...
