Nice! I did stuff yesterday too. Went grocery shopping with h, did a load of laundry, took my Positive Psych final, swam laps for an hour. But those were spread across the entire day lol

If i spread it across a whole day it will never get done. If I go from my bed to my couch, I wont get up for hours and I’ll just fall asleep on the couch- so in order for me to be productve, I just have to hop out of bed and not sit down until its done.

Now that I’ve swum a couple miles I feel worthy to share a couch with Jersey.

It’s close, though, so I’m sitting on the edge.

I can't show my face on the couch at all! It's almost 1 and I'm still a slug. I made the little a bowl of cereal and put kibble down for the kitty, does that count?

I finally got up and made breakfast. Including for my son who actually slept at home on a Saturday night for once! It is almost 10 am here but I am up now.

I've gone through some clothes and found some to get rid of, plus done some laundry. Going to unload the dishwasher in a few.

I'm playing with my Instant Pot again this afternoon. Just made a dozen hard boiled eggs, currently have cod fillets cooking, next up is a batch of rice.
Thanks for this!

I won an instant pot at my company's holiday party, but I don't cook so I let someone else have it.

Egg cups look cool, but unless I have servants, I don't want more specialized dishes. And it looks hard to get the top off of a soft boiled egg without making a huge mess.

My mother-in-law hassled me to no end about not eating a soft-boiled egg out of an egg cup properly. I still don't know how the h ell you're supposed to do it. I don't think you can serve somebody something they don't typically eat and then critique how they eat it. So odd, as my MIL is normally a delightful person.

Apparently, the egg cup situation (or the lack thereof) in the United States is a nationwide problem now causing international (okay, British) outrage.

My Instant Pot is getting a workout today. I cooked a box of couscous in it to mix in with my Red Lentil chili so it will go farther and now I have fresh green beans in there steaming. I get annoyed when I steam 'em on the stove because the water invariably boils over and makes a mess. We'll see how they come out in the IP.

ETA: they came out pretty darn good.

I grew up with egg cups thanks to my mother. I do recall at least two conversations when her boarding school friends were visiting over the merits of three- vs. five-minute eggs.

An egg spoon is the de rigeur tool for eating out of an egg cup. Just sharply tap the top of the egg a few times, worm the spoon into the cracks, and slice off the top of the egg with the spoon.

Really. AY, were you proposing to use egg cups without egg spoons? Tres gauche.
