Couch 174: Good Lord, Those People

I didn't want T1 to read my threads on here but I'm not worried about current T reading them. I don't say anything here that I wouldn't say to him. Though I'm fairly sure he wouldn't read anything I hadn't asked him to read. He's really boundaried and ethical like that.

I'm on hiding on the last break for my writer's workshop so no one will have to experience the difficulty of speaking with me.

Piaf really got to me with that remark. I mean, I'm sure it's difficult. But I thought I was doing the best I could.

I'm sorry you're hurting so much. You are absolutely already doing the best you can and nobody will ask more of you. Piaf was wrong to have spoken to you like that and you deserve so much better than to be spoken to like that (I've also seen your dear T post). I doubt the others at your workshop think the way she does.

I’m so sorry ATAT. You are a very smart, educated and likeable person based on what I see how you present yourself here. I’m with Lemoncake-I’m sure not everyone feels the way she does.

When you are ready Piaf needs to know how much that statement affected you and how she was totally out of line. If you want to send me her information-I’ll send her a strongly worded letter.

My therapist copied a chapter of a book for me to read. I had written a bunch of notes on post-its about the chapter. In session, we were talking about the chapter and I handed him the pages to read a paragraph from the article. He commented I had taken a bunch of notes and was it okay if he read them that he didn't want to read them without my permission. I had wondered if he was already reading them, but I'm glad he asked if it was okay to do so. It felt nice that he respected my boundaries too.

You seem to have found a way to balance things and take what's helpful. I'd say you've made good use of the forum in that way.

Have spent half the day cleaning up human urine and other messes from bad home care.

One good thing: I have met my annual maximum out of pocket limit for health care and got approved for extended rehab benefits. :-)

Oooh I like that idea. Or better yet, anyone here could write a strongly worded statement and @@ could compile them and give them to the witch.

I did in the wee hours when I couldn’t sleep draft two emails to her. They’re the same in terms of content about what she said and how it affected me except in one I said I was taking a break and in the other I said I wasn’t returning. I haven’t decided which one to send yet.

I think I managed to be polite except maybe for calling her comment self-absorbed and insensitive. Which won’t surprise her since in session I told her the same after she asked with a puzzled look on her face, “was that rude?”

I think those guys like the idea they are talked about, but are puzzled at less than universal adoration.

T told me he's probably going to close his practice at the end of the year.

I think I found a DBT group, but it's expensive: $145 for assessment and $75 per meeting. I'm hoping her boss allows for a sliding scale. H doesn't like the price, but I simply told him: "How much have you spent on your hospital visits?" That shut him up...lol.

Ts are ambivalent about us talking about them. On the one hand, it's good that we have a support system. On the other hand, they're afraid we'll vent here and not bring it back to them. Also, though Madame T never admitted it, she was jealous that I might have a more intimare relationship with someone else.

I wonder if in her twisted unreasonable thinking that she’s betting her statement drove you away? I would take a little break and schedule for when you ready then tell her if she’s exhausted and frustrated that your back to give her something to be exhausted and frustrated about. The LAY INTO HER!

The multi wuote thing isnt working for me, but thanks for all the kind comments. I really enjoy painting and was never allwed to as a child and was discouraged by my ex as an adult. I really do value everyones opinion on the couch in particular. Last night i had a weird dream about you all involving my potential garden. It sure was a crowded dream.
