So I don’t find it creepy. Just refreshingly naive. Guy should read some Psychology Today therapist pages.
Well aren't we heroes on a quest? Couch 176: The happy cake couch

Also I think maybe they use specific words and phrases to try to attract the kinds of clients they know they work best with... maybe?

I'm proud of all your heard work artie. At my first university we had an adult student in his 70s as it was something he always wanted to do. I saw him in the lunch room- he definitely wasn't sitting on his own.

Oh so it's just using buzz words? I thought it was to see how their clients thought, like reading a depression forum not picking out specific words.

The fact that the college gives a 50% discount of tuition to over-55 adults certainly encourages our going back to school!
Thanks for this!

It's my inner younger self that responds to that... Like when I rewrote my childhood as a fairy tale.... I loved that particular therapy homework assignment!

Many of them seem to think of clients as children or treat them as children.

I have never seen myself as a hero on a damn quest as it relates to therapy.
Although I do think that there is something that fits well with therapy and those who are readily hooked by such ideas.

I always flunked acolyting.

We are having a beautiful 75 degree day here today. The humidity is low and there is a nice breeze. It’s a nice break from the heat we’ve been having.
I have to catch up on the couch. I honestly haven’t been reading back because my attention span lately is horrible.

You can do it! I hope you have a lot of fun! Sometimes I miss uni and then most of the time I'm just glad I don't have to take tests and do all those presentations but I miss the study groups and seeing the same faces every week and writing papers--yes I'm a nerd I think writing papers are fun.

The Couch is a perfectly safe place to have a tantrum, whisper.

Would you like a hug?

Previously on lost, a paraphrase but still applies:

There was a cat picture.
@@ said something smart.
CE said something funny.
Una said something which was no one understood
SD challenged the validity of therapy.
LT was nice and supportive.
Whispers gave out food.
Artie got her dream.
and I spammed the couch.

It was great. I emailed it to t at 11pm the night I finished it and she read it right then and replied. I read it out loud to her at the next session and we sat there laughing our butts off at the funnier parts. It was called "the unhappy princess".
