I suppose if one finds the three stooges funny then it is the sort of humor that will appeal. I am not telling anyone not to watch it. Just not what I find funny or compelling.

T and i had our regular check in talk today and he was saying the progress i made. I no longer spend 20-30 minutes dissociating badly to the point i disappear. I wa saying i amless dissociative in general but now i have a lot more time to fill in. He seems to think its progress. I am really not sure what my goals in therapy are so i cant measure that. I think this is where i shouldbe at this point in time.

luc, the bee is gorgeous! I’m sitting and stitching while my kids watch a movie for school, and despairing that I’ll never finish. Your bee gives me hope.

I am very disappointed that Netflix’s “The Haunting of Hill House” ended happily, updating Shirley Jackson’s “whatever walked there, walked alone” to “whatever walked there, walked together.”

Happy unrealistic endings really bug me. I hate romantic comedies especially. I liked Crazy Rich Asians up until the end.

I like when they have the kitties and doggies and other animals on. Like today they were doing "What the Fluff?", which is when the person plays hide and seek behind a sheet, in the final, they drop the sheet and run to another room, leaving the dog wondering where the person went. Its awesome watching the dog think it through. They are smarter than human babies, who just cry.

The difference is, yeah i used to be a snob about watching this show too. Now i just watch it for what it is, and to try to understand the deplorables. That is, im still a snob about the show, but now i watch it. "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." - the godfather

Which reminds me! - one little boy was reading his history report, and kept talking about the "original 13 cannolis" and his dad said "good job!"

me too! I enjoyed Wonder Woman until the end for that same reason. Can't she be kicka$$ all on her own without having some man to love?

I like happy endings. I don't watch many movies but when I do, it is mockumentaries, black comedies, or the sort that are what I like to call happy sandwiches - happy at the beginning, happy in the middle, and happy at the end - which most mockumentaries and black comedies are. I am disappointed in a lot of romantic comedies mostly because I want the women to get together at the end - girl gets girl not girl gets boy.

If I want real or unhappy - I can go read a client's file or the news. I want my escapism to be a happy place.

Family night. So peaceful—the kids’ dad is out of town, and there’s just a whole different vibe when he’s gone. We watched Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for middle kid’s homework, the boys made dinner and we played cards while we ate, and they made hot chocolate and drank it while I read a chapter from Musicophilia (Oliver Sacks). It was just a nice smooth evening.

Now I am trying to just enjoy the peace, full stop, instead of questioning whether I always do everything I can to create this peaceful dynamic when their dad is home too.

It’s been a lovely day.

And the just like...the weekend is gone. Time to go to work.
It makes me miserable that I’m leaving my house at 7:40am and won’t be back in my home till 6:30pm.
I need a new job.

I was up at an ungodly hour because my brother decided to blow up my phone with 33 texts in 20 minutes. He claims it is his ADD - I think it is more manic behavior than anything. My Dad says he is ok.

I'm drinking a Diet Pepsi because I don't drink coffee.

Today my mother was due to be occupied by her reunion all day.

Instead, she is back at my apartment, because the reunion (mostly involving former MDs and health professionals) broke up in an acrimonious dispute over blood thinners and how they work.

It sounds like the highlight was when the leader of one faction stood up from the table, wagged her finger at the leader of the other faction, said, "You are so contrary!" and swept out, followed by her partisans.

It is in fact cancer. But it’s stage 1-very treatable. He needs radiation everyday for the 7 weeks.

Hugs...glad it's only stage 1. I'm sure it's still scary though.

Sounds like an average faculty meeting at my university
