I feel like self-harming right now and it’s a crisis to me.

You’re looking at the trees, not the forest. Your frequent desire to self-harm and then doing it is an ongoing crisis to your therapist. You can’t look at each incident separately and you can’t say it’s a crisis only if it’s a medical crisis; it’s a psychological crisis.

That’s how my T and now I view it in my situation.

I do think, to use your word Velcro, that it is serious, but not immediate call 911 serious. My T never asked for a phone call or referred me to a crisis line for it, but he did seem pretty happy when I decided that I “had” to contact him before I did anything (I am pretty reluctant to contact him so it works a bit as a deterrent).

I put on my big girl panties this afternoon and called my T. He told me to leave a message if he doesn't answer which I did. Got a text a few hours later that he is unable to call me back until late this evening but offered me an earlier time for tomorrow's session. H and I werw supposed to have MC tonight too but she cancelled 30 minutes prior to our session. So I'm left tonight without anyone to talk to but my thoughts.

I'm having so much fun planning my sister's surprise baby shower. Probably too much fun! I ordered games from etsy, got pink and gold balloons, pink pencils, pink vase, etc. My sister is going to celebrate a lot this month! The baby shower, Christmas, and it's her birthday month too. I wish I had more money though. There are these really cool touch lamps. For example, I'd get one and my sister would get one. Let's say I was thinking about her, I'd touch my lamp and her lamp would light up, and vice versa. But they're like $180! My dad told me that my sister doesn't realize how much I think about her. This would show her.

Why do crisis lines have to be so damn unhelpful or is it that I can't be helped. I should go to bed, I'm making me not want to be near myself.

I don't think it's a crisis either. I don't do it often anymore. These days I'll go years without doing it. Recently I did it once when I knew my therapist was definitely going to die and twice more after he died. Haven't done it in a few weeks, probably won't do it again is my guess.

For me, it's a coping mechanism. Not a good one and less and less effective as I get older. But not a crisis at all.

ETA: I also don't get anywhere close to the point of having to go to the hospital. I'm fairly careful not to leave permanent scars even.

For me, SH was a sign of a crisis. It was a coping skill I used when nothing else helped. I knew there wasn't much coping afterwards, so it was definitely a warning sign.

I think when you still actively use SH, you can't see how unhealthy it is. Like other addictions too. So to you, it's okay, but in reality it's not.

I'm on episode 2- just waiting impatiently for The dark and game of thrones!

I want to start that book after I'm done with Oliver twist.

Nothing bodes better for a student’s final exam performance than when they email you the night before the final asking when it is.

It’s not like it hasn’t been mentioned in class repeatedly and it’s not like the information isn’t all over the course website and it’s not like the university doesn’t post a final exam schedule. Oh no.

Morning all. I've already been working 3.5 hours and it's only 8:30 am. Lol

Son was in quite a mood this morning, grumbling about having to be an adult. Oh boy. He's stressing cuz he's barely started packing and he's moving on Saturday....

Way to go artie! The perks of waking up early. My alarm is set for 5.00am tomorrow.

He still has time. It will be a huuuge step for him. I only moved out when I was 23 when I started my current degree.

Oh but have pity on the poor stoodent. He/she couldn't attend class to find out about the exam because they haven't been well. They couldn't ask other people because they haven't settled in and made any friends yet. Their computer hasn't been working and and their internet cut out the day before yesterday due to the clear skies so they OBVIOUSLY couldn't ask before.
