I need one of those! Where did you get it? And is it helping you stay in shape?

I got mine at Walmart. For $24.99 the brand is Golds Gym. I’m trying it for the first time today. I’m very overweight and out of shape so any exercise is good for me. It might be too easy for someone who works out regularly.

The Man Who Loved Cat Dancing

Not sure what's more disturbing, that the book exists, or that it reads, "Now a great movie!" on the cover.

Yes, if you can pay out of pocket, you can see however many therapists you like, as often as you like. (The individual therapists might object if they knew about the others, but that has nothing to do with payment.) Paying out of pocket can get pretty expensive, though.

If you use insurance, your insurance company can put limits based on your policy (e.g., X # of sessions per year). You also generally have to find a therapist who has a contract with your insurance company or else insurance will either reimburse at a lower rate (say, 60%) or not at all. There can be all sorts of arbitrary limits and rules, which you only find out about when the insurance refuses to pay for services you have already received, thus leaving you responsible for the difference.

The whole system is horrendously complicated and, I would argue, completely immoral.

I have one called a Wonder Core. Its more like a mini stepper? Plus you supposably can do other exercises on it. I can tell the difference. I have an issue with consistency.

SD: i thought of you today in my session. my T was talking about how she finds the idea of therapy being "work" ludicrous, and i cackled in my head and said, i know SD agrees.

(edited to remove exclamation point. how rude of me)

Uggh. Today is going to be difficult day. Slept very badly cause scared back to no therapy sessions after today till Monday, then scared the review appointment I have on Friday with new doctor will go ****. And I miss him. Or at least the safety he represented. So it's noon and finally dragged self out of bed. It's sunny though so am trying to take the dog for a walk. He's doing that, you put your walk shoes on, why have you flopped back on the sofa with your phone stare right now at me. I just looked at him and he was like come on let's go. Ah well better listen to him!

I don’t understand people who make comments on someone facial features. Someone told someone else that their eyebrow line is too thin. Okay-I don’t look at that stuff on people-maybe I’m the one who’s abnormal for not noticing that stuff on people? I mean don’t people have other things to do than walk around commenting on people’s eyebrows?

On another note..we made it to Wednesday! Hurray! The closer to the weekend the better. Today I am trying something new. I’m not gonna start counting how many hours I have at work even before I get there. I won’t count at all. Let see if that helps the day go faster.

Ugh, they closed schools today, even though we barely got any snow. I had this whole plan of trying to get all my work that's due tomorrow done today so I could basically take the day "off" for my birthday (I work freelance), but guess that won't happen with D home all day. And she'll probably be cranky...Hoping T will still be in. He generally is even if schools are closed, but Monday he had to rearrange my session because he hadn't realized it was a (scheduled) half-day, so now I wonder if today would be an issue. I've come to really hate winter...

They delayed school openings in our area and there is NO snow on the ground. Welcome to the generation where every kids get a trophy for showing up on the field and school is closed because it’s cold. I’m not sure if I’m more worried for now with our current leader or if I’m more worried about our future.

Time to go to work.
Thanks for this!

That sucks, all schools here were closed yesterday and today. I bet lots of kids/parents are going stir crazy

You could still enjoy your birthday though. I am sure you can find something fun to do, even if you have to drive off alone a bit and do it.

Thanks, all, for the winter weather commiseration. It's also tough because routine is good for my D. (and H was just saying he'd like to be back in a routine, too! since D had a planned half day Monday, plus they let out 3 hours early yesterday). Also, my T said he plans to be in today and told me to be careful in the ice if I'm out this morning (session isn't till afternoon).
Thanks for this!

I get the routine thing. My brother is the same. I can be, I don't like change very much but I adapt easier than he does to it. I just remind him that sometimes things happen and you just gotta find a different solution. No doubt its hard for him to do, but it works out when it has to... even if I have to remind him often during the day that a certain thing wont work that way this time.

Hope you have a good day with her and your session is good. I agree winter sucks. I hate it for other reasons but I for sure hate it
