Having session sooner than usual is both good and bad. It was good to be able to follow up on our work so soon, but now I have to wait longer for the next one. Roll on next Thursday. Could really do with it not being April quite so soon, but there's nothing much I can do about that.

As to where I will end up going in session..that's anybody's guess.

Need to clarify whether I'll have a session the week beginning the 8th. Handy having a break thrown in at a time when I am the most confused. After April the year runs away with itself.

Possible trigger:

I am in a great deal of emotional pain, but I will not admit that to myself.

My cousin is sending her teenage son over to help H with the basement. The boys wants new sneakers and she is going to make him earn the money for them. So that’s happening in 2 weeks. At least one thing got resolved today.

They are both still at the bottom for me - otherwise I can't tell a difference. It looks the same to me. But I have mine set to a fairly minimalist look in so far as it is customizable.

Currently there is a lizard on the outside of my office window, and my cats are insistent that they have the ability to scratch through the glass to get to said lizard. They are not yet ready to admit defeat. The three of them are working together at it.

I'm going to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner tomorrow. I don't really want to go back on meds, but it seems wise at this juncture. The practice gave me an intake packet to fill out that's like half an inch thick. I really hope I like and trust this person because they are certainly going to know a lot about me after they read all this information.

Unrelatedly, what is up with therapists thinking everybody is going to develop erotic feelings for them? It comes across as weirdly arrogant to me. I'm fortunate that my T doesn't seem to jump to that conclusion all the time, but I have had to explain to her on several occasions that I don't secretly wish we could be friends. Frankly, I would be much more comfortable with erotic transference than with my raging maternal transference.

Actually, I’ve never had a therapist seem to think I’m going to fall in love with them. It might have been the pulsing waves of hostility that radiate off me towards them.

I was just telling my T today about how the paternal transference was the more difficult part for me with ex-MC. And now that I'm feeling a bit of it for T, it's scaring me. ET I can deal with--the paternal stuff is much more painful. Though in reading more about it, I think what I had for ex-MC was actually maternal transference. More looking for the nurturing, the unconditional love. While with T, it's more paternal, someone to both advise and protect me.

Oh man, Couch, stick a fork in me.

The dishwasher leaked. There is now a giant dehumidifier in my kitchen. I am exhausted by the constant noise. And the back of the linoleum began to mildew, and we can't remove it until the insurance guy gets a chance to inspect it and gives the go-ahead AND the boys' dad (with the best of intentions, wanting to help the experts who might not have set things up right) rolled back the linoleum which exposed the mildew-y back all night long to the dehumidifier that is blowing air all over the place.

So on top of everything else, my eyes itch, which is really. the. worst.

Exactly. And as I said to my T today, he could probably just write of ET as "Oh, she just finds me attractive." I imagine dealing with someone only 7 years younger than him with paternal transference is more difficult. Though it seems he believes it's more about core needs being met (or not) than transference per se. Or something.

Here too. I've been washing and drying, but the baskets of clean things are sitting in the living room stubbornly not folding themselves.

I never get to chill, I Netflix and fold instead.

I try to tell myself I'm being efficient, doing it all in one go.
