I'm on a see-food diet right now. This healing from surgery stuff has me way hungrier than usual and coupled with the I can't exercise for 2 more weeks per doc's orders I'm amazed I haven't gained any weight!

I usually take out my pets’ stitches as well unless something looks bad or is painful for them.

Needed to sleep all day but had to go into work. T wore me out yesterday and then the work stirred up all sorts of attachment stuff. Sent him an email and for the first time in a long time requested a reply. How many times can I refresh my email in a minute before the computer explodes?

I feel proud of myself. At work we received a freight bill that in our opinion we were not responsible for since the vendor made a mistake and sent it by the wrong carrier. It took a lot of back and forth with the carrier, and a lot of phone calls and emails with the vendor, but we do not have to pay the freight bill! Yay! I was assertive, but polite. I was asking for what I wanted, a favorable resolution, and we don't have to pay the freight bill. The vendor is going to take care of it! Yippee! This is the best thing I've done at work maybe all month! HUGS Kit

Well my current Prof is almost done posting grades - only 1 homework, 1 quiz and my extra credit is left to be posted. She said she would be done by Friday so we will be able to make the decision on if we need to take the optional final or not. I doubt I will either way, since it covers the entire semester...

I don't think I have ever heard of an optional final. In Stats, there was optional extra credit before the final. Which I did even though I had a perfect grade in the class. The prof was surprised and like, why? And I said, "You never know how the final is going to go." Turned out I got a perfect score on the final too, but if I had it to do over, I would still do the extra credit. Too bad the final wasn't optional in that class. Lol. Sometimes I miss school. Most of the time I'm glad I'm done, at least for now.

I have to go to the post office after work....dreading that a bit. But then I have the evening to relax. No class to teach tonight. Meeting with my friend tomorrow night instead of tonight. So all should be good.

I'd never heard of it either til this class! Couch 196: Cinnamon Swirls
My first college years ended in 1985, so I had a really long break.....

I'll just put this right here, I am grateful once again to you guys for helping me decide to stay in this class and not worry about my grade. It has been so interesting and enjoyable I'm sad that it's ending. And I've corrected my thinking about said grades too. I am immersing myself in and enjoying the learning instead of stressing about grades.

Bring on summer session and Poetry Writing class!

So glad you ended up enjoying the class Artie. It's great when one can learn and have fun at the same time! Good luck on your poetry writing class!

Does anyone else feel like their teeth have been cleaned with really strong acid after eating raw spinach? I was enjoying it but now when my tongue touches my teeth it's quite unpleasant.

Optional finals? Geez. I smell professorial laziness.

I make mine non-cumulative, but never optional.

My high school chemistry teacher said the final couldn't count against us. So if we had an A there was no need to take it. But I was a dork who took it anyway.

Chemistry is one class I could never "get". I earned a C in High School Chemistry and a C at community college in Chemistry. And I was grateful for those C's because I truly never understood the material. Now physics on the other hand.......and biology, and agriculture, and geology, those were awesome!

In high school Chemistry, I knocked over some chemicals which got on my arm and a bit of my arm was green for like a year. True story.

I think Agriculture and physics were my favorite. Oh and scientific research, those were all in HS.

The second series of My Favourite Martian is so different but I am enjoying the landlady as she appears more. It has never been explained how she is independently wealth and where her daughter from the first couple of episodes went. No wonder girls think so poorly of themselves because even the genius girl was depicted as frumpy and sad and only found happiness when she was made attractive, or maybe i missed the point.
