UGH! Lemoncake! Never in my life have I ever had an urge to go to Ikea... BUT an Elderflower drink! They are 45min away... but on the way to Pdoc... and the quilt shop I spend too much $$ in... Pdoc is getting super expensive!

Why do cats choose to drink from the puddle of shower water in the corner of the bathroom or from the saucepan on the stove or from the toilet when I put out fresh water regularly?

I think cats have an instinct to drink from as many places as possible.

Ugh!!!! So mad at myself! H got me a piece of chocolate cheesecake for my birthday but then I got distracted by an email reply from T and binged on crappy chocolate.
I guess that means cheesecake for breakfast!

T said “comfortable relaxed sessions are always preferable” and part of me wants to write back and ask what the F kind of therapy is that !?!?!? Then part of me is doing the “see he does want to manipulate you” thing... ugh. Why do I have intense emotional reactions to the stupidest crap from T?

I think cats have an instinct to be as defiant as possible.

But in all fairness, mine do it because they don’t like sharing dishes with “lower life forms” AKA the dogs... but mine have serious cattitude.

Let the feelings speak for themselves through imagery. There's no need to explain in poetry. The poetry I enjoy the most is when the images are evocative. I guess I prefer an invisible poet hand at work. I don't read a Frost poem to understand Frost (that's literary analysis); I read Frost to hear what my heart is saying.

Acquainted with the Night

I have been one acquainted with the night.

I have walked out in rain—and back in rain.

I have outwalked the furthest city light.

I have looked down the saddest city lane.

I have passed by the watchman on his beat

And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.

I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet

When far away an interrupted cry

Came over houses from another street,

But not to call me back or say good-bye;

And further still at an unearthly height,

One luminary clock against the sky

Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.

I have been one acquainted with the night.

I’m babysitting for these people tonight that said they would be home by 11. It’s 12. She just texted to ask how it’s going. Um...it would be going better if you were actually here. I have a sinus headache and want to go home and go to bed.

I just got home, spent the day with my oldest, left my youngest there for a week. What madness will I be up to, rattling around the house alone? I really need to redecorate my dining room, ha!

H is at it again. Four times to the ER this week for semi high bp (150/101) and semi high pulse (130's). I know there's something up to make those elevated, but pretty much everything besides anxiety has been ruled out. He still refuses to admit to his anxiety. Deep down, I still hope he proves me wrong and they find whatever it is that ailing him because otherwise this is all bs.

4 trips is excessive. Not taking sides, but his trips had quieted down for a bit. Maybe all the moving has triggered this.

You don't have to buy anything, you're free to just wander around too. I like the show rooms and trying out the chairs although I already have a favorite. I like pretending that I lived there.

They always have a cafe place where you could have lunch, so it could be a nice day trip.

(Sorry everyone but I guess for the sake of transparency- I should also declare my shares in Ikea.)

Yes 😂 my poor H spent ages toy-shopping online for the cat. We now have two puzzle toys, one indifferent cat and one disappointed H.

That's annoying. I hope you get paid for the extra time they're gone. Like you get hourly vs. a flat rate?

Ugh, I'm sorry Scarlet. It seems like he should be seeing his cardiologist for that, not going to the ER that many times (once, OK). That is a pretty high BP and pulse, if it's his resting pulse. Even when I'm having a panic attack, mine is usually more like 115 bpm (and my BP has always been relatively low--don't usually take that during an attack).
Thanks for this!

Yes. I charged her $20.00 bucks an hour last night. Weather kids were asleep or not. I’m not playing around with these families anymore. They are all getting me annoyed right now. Especially the lady that said “They were going to go in a different direction” and then posted an ad on care.com. That’s your different direction? Okay. Whatever.
